Hi, I'm making seven of these out of (very hard) African Olive wood. It's for my course mates and our paster who is guiding us though the 34 week course. (Disciples 1) Anyway, it he olive wood has a lot of significance and one can buy them in the holy land , also made from Olive wood. The big difference is that I'm making these by hand and have only used machines to get the blanks out. It is very slow going. I calculated that it's about 7 to 8 hours per cross. I also use, # 600 grit and #150
