This kind of reuse is quite respectable, even a good thing since it means that different movesets are entirely compatible across multiple characters. That's a KH2 level guarantee for mods that you don't really get in any other video game.
Hey Roxas, you killing it brother. I’m doing Explained on Lore and you are doing breakdowns for Gameplay.........we the information brothers. Also Oathkeeper also has Sora adopt Kairis battle style so if he is also copying Riku, what would the finisher be. Oathkeeper is a keyblade of light...
Huh, you'd think they'd base Oathkeeper's animations with Kairi's and give Riku's to Oblivion. Then again, Oathkeeper being associated with Riku still makes some sense.
@@ss0766 As far as I could tell, his move set is his air flair finisher move from bbs and he's also got wind raid. But I do like how Ven and Aqua's attack combo with each other. Like Ven would use wind raid and then Aqua would do a combo while they're(vanitas/terranort) staggered by wind raid
Soooo, basically recycling animations for Riku's combat, huh. If this was pokémon, they'd be asking for Nomura's retirement by now xD Also i've wondered how, if Riku is already a full-fledged keyblade master, he doesn't have any keyblade transformations nor mastery over magic. Like, really? Only Thundaga and Curaga? And the only "dark" attack is Dark Firaga for a situation command? Talk about laziness. We'll see in the Re: mind trailer if this is updated or what. But i digress. Good job on this video, my dude. Keep it up!
Logically, if he's coming straight off of DDD. He should be able to use everything he got from DDD. Including mastery over basic magic and some more advanced ones like graviza. I personally he should have at least have one form change that boasts his darkness abilities and the finisher would be dark aura which is his signature move
@@OneRandomVictory Yeah, for Roxas made sense because he was brainwashed, so he couldn't even remember that he had a keyblade. Even sora forgot all of his magic while sleeping, so well... kinda made sense. But not for Riku. I agree with the comment above this one. Riku should have had more protagonism and more abilities since the beginning, not depending on DLC's. At least have all the magic like they did with Aqua, damn. It wasn't that difficult.
Lunar Ohmus for the events of DDD and how Sora lost his power, I’m more thinking that Sora didn’t forget but rather he couldn’t. What I mean by this is because yen sid said that he lost his strength instead of something else like power or abilities. Essentially, Sora was just too weak to use any of his advanced magic spells instead of forgetting how to do them. My main “evidence “ is how Sora was able to use something like Ars Arcanum and Sonic Blade in Olympus where he’s not supposed to have them. Even farther, he was able to use fire after Darkside so he had enough power to do that. Idk how you’re gonna tell me that he was remind of how to use fire after fighting a water based enemy. Oh and for grand magic and other situation commands, it’s better to think of those as limit breaks rather than something they can casually do(unless you’re name is Mickey and can casually cast ultima)
Xys d i mean what did you want it to do tho, I’m just glad it’s not second form, and we haven’t even seen the ground combo either so I dunno calm down or whatever lol
Oh god so um... they were too lazy to make a new combo for Sora so they reused Riku's. Additionally Bio...a lot of the 'rays of light' you see are really just action lines. Not magic being cast
I wouldn’t say “lazy” since they melded both Kairi and riku’s attack into the oathkeeper formchange combo. What’s an action line? Also, I think the attacks where riku’s keyblade glows means he is casting magic since it glows which is similar to magic being cast.
@@BioRoxas Also only the combo enders are the same as Riku. The beginning of the air combo is similar to kairi's combo. The only other thing they pulled from other animations is one of ultima form's finishers.
Recycling would mean they are just copy and pasting the same animation. They remade the attacks from DDD in the new engine and they aren’t the exact same just extremely similar. Sora’s oathkeeper attacks are not the entire combo recycled but just a part of it if you could even say that since it’s not even the whole parts of the attack that he uses.
You've outdone yourself... I didn't even imagined that his moveset was so full of references to the DDD moveset attacks (except for the dark roll and the barrier)

Thanks!
Yeah I talk about kairi’s attacks in the actual oathkeeper formchange breakdown but didn’t think it warranted an explanation here ^^
I would love to see breakdowns of other allies in the game (kairi, Axel, ben, etc.) but I know it may be hard...:/
I’m going to do those! I just want to wait for Re:MIND in case we actually get to play as all of them!
Bio-Roxas yeah! That’s what I was thinking you might do. I look forward to it!!
Could you do a breakdown of Riku/Dark Mode Riku from Re:Chain of Memories?
Good idea! ^^ I’ll write it down!
i wonder you'll do a dream eater breakdown for kimdom hearts DDD (you can do just the special one) because i feel it can be interesting
I plan to! c:
@@BioRoxas cool. so you'll do all of them ?
I don't know if it's true but if you guard when Mickey is Dead it will bring him back to life I don't know if this is true tho
I saw someone else say that! I never knew you could do that!
Huh, you'd think they'd base Oathkeeper's animations with Kairi's and give Riku's to Oblivion.
Then again, Oathkeeper being associated with Riku still makes some sense.
There are some attacks that are from kairi as well! It kind of melds both Riku and kairi’s attacks together!
@@BioRoxas For real? That's nuts. Wonder what they'll do for Oblivion then...
It may be the same thing but with a darkness based finisher!
@@BioRoxas Huh, fitting. Kinda liked something unique though, not gonna lie.
Actually riku is associated with oblivion and kairi is associated with oathkeeper
Wait weren't you gonna wait for the DLC to come out before making this video?
I kept seeing people ask for it and I would be really surprised if his moveset changed in the DLC! If it does I'll cover it ^^
So Riku is a grey Jedi
Yosh
Hearing you talk in the middle of the video without a script sure feels VERY different.
Ya I am so bad at talking off the cuff 😂
Wow I'm pathetic... I knew all of these things before this video came out lol
Wait rikus in this game?
Very very briefly xD
Will u do Roxas ventus Kari axel and xions combat from kh3
At some point! I’m going to wait until to ReMIND before I do that though ^^
I think Ven only has two attacks
@@ss0766 As far as I could tell, his move set is his air flair finisher move from bbs and he's also got wind raid. But I do like how Ven and Aqua's attack combo with each other. Like Ven would use wind raid and then Aqua would do a combo while they're(vanitas/terranort) staggered by wind raid
Despite the small number of attacks, Ven was quite useful in that fight
@@ss0766 very true cause of all the staggering he does
Soooo, basically recycling animations for Riku's combat, huh.
Keep it up!
nitpicks
Minor playable roles often aren’t fleshed out. He only like 2 attacks in KH2 and Roxas couldn’t even use magic when he was playable in 2.
So glad when I saw they kept his DDD abilities
Unlike another spiky hair freak 😏
it is sad he didn't keep the ballons.
gms bi man the balloons can stay in the hell they were spawned from 😦
Anyone else pissed off about oathkeeper being recycled moves?
Photon Alchemist it’s not identical tho even if it is similar
Monty2289 it’s not really reused if they had to remake the animations for Sora, and we haven’t seen the ground combo either 🤷🏼♂️
@@BioRoxas Action line refers to things like the lines during Aerial Finish i think.
That's not darkness. It's black light. Maybe that's why Xeahnort isn't a Villian
You're making me tired with that sleepy voice.
Also oh man this is way more detailed than I expected.
It looks ddd of kingdom hearts
They’re just recycling animations at this point and everyone really eats it up its nuts square give no fucks about kingdom hearts and it shows
Recycling would mean they are just copy and pasting the same animation. They remade the attacks from DDD in the new engine and they aren’t the exact same just extremely similar. Sora’s oathkeeper attacks are not the entire combo recycled but just a part of it if you could even say that since it’s not even the whole parts of the attack that he uses.
