I own the SKODA LAURA L&K with 196000kms on it. It's a REAL SEDAN with best of performance and mileage- 200+kmph performance and 17-20kmpl mileage. Parts are costly and maintenance is comparatively higher than the HONDAs & Toyotas but the features were way ahead of it's time. It's build quality is one of the toughest, even if we consider today's NCAP standards. Am seriously not convinced by the latest SEDANs that are being launched and there's NO DIESEL anyway😢
I own a Honda Jazz and then, last month I purchased the Slavia 1.5 TSI DSG. Even though I still love Jazz, Slavia is way ahead and an absolute Fun-To-drive machine, the DSG gearbox is another world and every vehicle lover should experience it. I test-drove Seltos, Creta, Verna, and Elivate but couldn't feel the fun-to-drive factor that the TSI/DSG combination offered. Verna was even offered to me at a discount of 2 Lakhs but I still went for Slavia which was 3.5Lakhs dearer, and I don't regret it, I'm absolutely in love with my Blue Beauty!!!
I bought 1.0 AT, even TC AT is way ahead if we compare to Verna IVT and City CVT. Even Taller cars like Creta. Best Driving dynamics with poor mileage.
@@imrankhan-ikhan Hmmm, the answer can't be precise... Last time, when I had a drive of about 120 km within Bangalore city (60% ride on Nice Ring Road and 40% ride within the city with moderate traffic-never went above 3000 RPM as I'm in an engine break-in period)- Average Mileage as shown was Avg. 16.30. Still I didn't go for a long trip which is due and still under engine break-in period, so can't give a better mileage number at this moment. I guess it could give you 18+ on highways if you maintain a 3-3.5K RPM. But the minute you press the gas pedal hard, the mileage goes down and you will see the power surge as well... so there is a clear relation between mileage and power, depending upon what you demand. If you want more mileage, you need to drive accordingly, if you want power, then yes, it is a beast, especially in sports mode... I guess it is mainly because of the 2 cylinder activation/deactivation tech that it got...
Skoda, is Quality in built, paint ,Transmission, Suspension. They promote 6 stars. Now they have improved in services. service cost reduced as they prepare parts locally. The instrument cluster is monochrome and too small other than the top end car.
I recently bought a Kushaq 1.0 Onyx Plus. Fuel efficiency is really great for a 1.2Ton vehicle, interior quality is not up to its level, engine feels refined no noise inside the cabin, cumbersome climatronic controls. excellent performance and handles the ride with perfection. This analysis gives more information. As mentioned in this video, AC throw is not enough even with rear vents, but still it's a good choice among its rivals at this price slab
What a presentation.... clearly covered everything in simple tamil which helps to understand mallus like me... I really wish skoda to launch new fabia in india... if they launch it I would definitely sell my waganr and buy it...
Yeti was ahead of times ⏲️ awesome vehicle 😊 used for 5+ years ❤yes service experience was mystery But be it Bad roads or no road or highway excellent memories 😊Build quality & Handling awfully 🎉
Skoda Fabia is a gem. I bought it in used market its still my favourite car in terms of performance, handling and mileage. Its parts are little bit pricey i feel it as major drawback. The service centre service cost is very high than anything else. I wish launching new Fabia will be a good move with little bit low price than hyundai i20.
@@duraidass Better handling, easy to overtake, its got quite stiffer suspension but gives smooth ride, average fuel efficiency on highway 17kmpl. Torque response is awesome.
Nermaiyanamotofam sir..talk about ride quality vs feature loaded in buying decision. For ex: though engine and driving is not great , people buy it for features like sunroof, touch info, camera etc.. like this
Good video sir. Recently I gone through one article which says seven to eight car manufactures will not survive in India that includes skoda, honda, Volkswagen etc. To survive We should have different products and make sure atleast people enter your show room. Cost wise it is very difficult to survive based on current volume. Even ford lost shares as they fail to introduce models in right time. I don't see even honda learned the lesson.
The logo explanation is just an interpretation. The original meaning is lost. But the official website states the below. "the stylised head of an Indian wearing a five-feathered headdress"
TDI engines were great. Im still owning it. But the components like Injector, abs sensors are prone to failure often. Each Injector costs 25K with gst. You need to have extended warranty for peace of mind. Replaced 2 Injectors and 2 abs sensors in warranty. But since TDI engines are no longer there I think those negative points are not applicable today unless people buy used TDI cars.
bro good analysis, I own many cars and Skoda laura and Salvia but I found the same problem AC was not good, and on Skoda, laura attracts an ac compressor charge of 60k at 30k odometer reading, my friend vw dsg auto g box charges 2L. speak something about this also.
#motowagon Asir bhai basically, they are a little behind in terms of Product Strategy. Skoda Volkswagen in India is surviving only with 3 products each. The Product Mix is not only minimal which doesn't give the prospective buyer much options, as you said rightly, the ghosts from the past is haunting the brand very badly in terms of reputation.
Opportunities - Pls check the spelling used in the video. A good video on the SWOT for Skoda. Hope they come back stronger in the next few years with Hybrids and EVs.
Skoda should bring some models as cbu like kamiq ,karoq, they should have introduce the Fabia as entry model nothing but a shortened slavia. Introduction of additional mpi engines can be done to reduce the car price and for NA lovers. May be new engine is needed with 1.2L 4 cylinder tsi engine or mpi engine.

Obviously it is the service and spare cost. All the car manufacturers should give pan India service ratings to their customers, where customers can share their feedback, recommendations etc. It is very hard to beat suzuki in India especially their K series engine, service & spare cost are unbeatable, a benchmark. I own an alto 2013 model clocked 80k without any single issue just regular service not even in service centre, Suzuki is a workhorse. My friend owns a swift 2016 which also clocked 70k without any issue everything was stock and i'm waiting to buy it if he sells 😁😁
Being a owner of 2012 vento 1.6 tdi, I agree the statement that dealers are LOOTERS, they ripped me to the core in service and initial batch vehicles had same common problems like injectors failure , abs sensor failure, turbo failure etc. They did not encourage off the counter parts sales. They should bring off the counter spares sales like suzuki if really interested in customer centric approach .

Skoda can be unique by having diesel engine. The way they release product looks like they are not keen on Indian market. They delayed mid size suv launch. Still they dont have compact suv. If they are keen on Indian market by now one compact suv and hatchback should be present. Skoda and VW are competing in same product rather they could have split the product types like skoda manufactur compact suv and mid size suv by VW that way both of them will win. Also sharing service center is another option to save cost for both companies. If VW and Skoda stop competing each other both will win else it will be same story as ford

Asir anna you missed one point they recommend 95 octane petrol for all their engines. For a common man where ordinary petrol costs 103 rs in tamilnadu the price of 95 octane petrol is more than 110 rs and above. This is also a weakness, where other brand turbo engines doesn’t demand 95 octane petrol, e.g., Hyundai, Citroen etc.,
Yeti was too soon for our Indian market. I remember seeing it a decade ago… was so confused with that design. Is it a van ? Car ? Or why it is boxy at the rear ? Or is it a big hatchback ?😂 I had too many thoughts about that car. But Škoda’s Laura was the perfect premium I had seen . That car is heavy …can handle curves very easily compared to other sporty sedans of that time. (a decade ago)
