This is my new favorite content, awesome idea and series, Rev! My personal feelings about indents side more with CGC than the PSA standards. I don't mind a minor indent and think scratching and whitening is much more egregious to lessening the visual appeal of a card. It's crazy how strict PSA treats those, usually an auto-6. My guesses, just to have on record for the next vid: Blastoise GX - 10 Gold Zekrom - 8 Gengar Mimikyu - 10 Articuno - 8 Skarmory - 6 Lugia EX - 9 Charizard EX - 6 (If CGC, that'd be an 8) Latios-Latias - 7 Jirachi - 9 Dragonite Delta - 8 Lillie - 10 Skyla - 8 Snorlax - 10 (I think they miss the dent) Ninetales V - 10 Kabutops 1E - 9 Palkia EX - 7
@ln9475 There's kind of a card grader joke that with CGC, "if there's a dent or it's bent, it's getting sent". Each grading company has it's own opinions and standards regarding what qualifies as damaged. PSA is in my opinion, a little ridiculous about the tiniest of dents and will auto-6 a card that looks like a 10 with anything like that. CGC doesn't consider that kind of imperfection as critically, so they'd probably give a tiny dent a less harsh grade.
@@PokeRevI actually think that would be genius, there is another channel I watch who do that for old games and it’s a blast it would feel like we are going on that adventure with you
You’re right I recently bought a reverse charizard g card in near mint, there was a bunch of scratches on the holo. Hate that there is no pictures most of the time
TCG Player’s customer service is amazing. I ordered a base set Gyrados and it came bent because the seller didn’t even ship it in a sleeve, let alone a top loader. They gave me my money back and let me keep it
as a TCG seller there are quite a few buyers that do not know about the TCG condition guide. I will often show it to them if there is ever an issue and they are pretty floored. I try to be in favor of the customer and give a bit of a refund if there's ever an issue but its helpful to familiarize yourself what is what when it comes to NM/LP/MP/HP/DMG. Recently, I have started to post pictures on any cards that are questionable or of a certain value, so there is less of a mystery about what will be received and no difference of opinions as to what is what. If it is close I will typically learn towards the lower grade, again, to favor the buyer... It's nice that you bring this to light though, so people's expectations can be a bit more clear.
@@user-fh2cf6eb5t no, there are clearly LP and arguably even MP cards there. I did not state that those were all NM at ALL (way to jump to conclusions there bud) -- just stating that there are people out there that do not know of the guide that he was referencing's existence.
It sucks to say but the people that dont know about condition card guide lines are the people that just hear that their is money to be made selling pokemon cards but they dont know about grading card and condition they just see money but dont see value in the card itself. I finally got my lugia from neo genesis and i love just having it, i never thought i would ever own one and now i do
I’ve been collection Pokemon cards since 2020/2021, and the channel has gotten me to take more interest in older sets! Especially Deoxys, Holon Phantoms, and Hidden Fates. Just bought a PokeRev Pack today I can’t wait to get it and open it up!
@@RolandKoller90 I’d say about 30% of the cards I order come in good shape what I’d consider near mint. I try to order only from sellers who I know send out quality cards
@@user-fh2cf6eb5t well my experience has been 100% positive. you think there's a card marketplace out there where every single buyer is going to have a 100% positive experience every single time? people always recommend ebay as if scammers don't sell on ebay all the time. tcgplayer isn't perfect but i'd love to see your public marketplace alternative where every shipment goes perfectly every time.
The indenting on the Lillie is a common factory error with some Pokémon print runs where the texture pattern gets indented on the back of the card from the factory. I’ve seen psa disregard it before but sometimes they don’t, 50/50
I really like your channel. I used to collect when I was younger and just recently got back into it with my kids and we'll sit and watch your videos like a TV show and look through our cards and compare them but I have way older stuff and have to downplay it for them but they enjoy it and it makes me smile seeing them open stuff and get excited about it.
In Europe we have Cardmarket and it is in my opinion way better than TCGPlayer. Some of those Cards would be HP in Cardmarket. We here in Europe are taking the condition very serious so the market here is also very hard. Only few would buy a card with surface scratching or even little bit Whitning
Love this content for multiple reasons, 1 I could never afford to do this 🤣 so it’s cool to see someone I like do it. 2 I always have an issues spotting stuff or know if it worth grading and what caused it to get what ever grade…so I’m looking forward to them coming back to see what they get. I would love to see more of this! Keep up the good work my guy!
You actually got so lucky on most of these. I have ordered tons of near mint off tcgplayer and its usually just people unloading their super off center cards or any of them that wouldn't get 9's or 10's.
Minor to moderate scratch, as I would leave the highest category for worst case examples, and without seeing it in person to truly gauge the severity. Another question is whether you tally each scratch, which is what I lean towards with "near mint." Each scratch should be evaluated. Personally, I would also consider the location of the scratch to be relevant in addition to scratch length, width, and depth.
I’ve been out of the loop of buying packs for years, but I have been enjoying both your new and viral videos. I sold a few yugioh recently from around 2005, but would love to find my old Pokemon cards.
Don't usually post comments but had to for this video! Definitely one of my new favorite type of contents from your channel. It's very fun to see what cards you got and try and guess the condition of them. Something I haven't seen much on UA-cam!
These are my favorite types of videos right here. Seeing a bunch of different stuff from all the years. You got one of my favorite cards that I cherished growing up. The Delta Species Dragonite! Man that’s a sick card.
You can't use centering to determine if something is mint or near mint, because "mint" condition is about the printing, or minting, of a card (or coin). Since the centering is done in factory, the centering can be horribly off, but the card can still be mint.

Why do you say 8 if CGC? Just curious, never heard that before.

The Kabutop's seller was determined that the card arrived safely xD
I have an idea, why dont you try going to garage sales and buying people old pokemon cards and showcasing them in the lair
I’m on it ty
Omg only 6 mins ago!?
@@PokeRevI actually think that would be genius, there is another channel I watch who do that for old games and it’s a blast it would feel like we are going on that adventure with you
You can get vintage for like 13 dollers
how likely are you to find old pokemon cards in a garage sale ? seems unlikely

Look up how they clean paintings. I am not sure but I wanna say they use purell and a qtip. You could possibly get the grime off.
Has nobody ever heard of painters tape? Or a buddy tab? That razor blade getting close to the card has me gasping.
Yo I peeped the same 👀
funny enough i just started collecting again and am taking some time to check out near mint single cards. timings too perfect here.. great vid yo

to put a little bit more perspective on things, all the way down to PSA 7 is "NM" -- so there's that too.

I really like the delta species dragonite. Think it goes for like $130 in a 9 so probably only breaking even. $500+ in a 10 tho
That Blastoise will always be a killer card ❤
Keep up the quality content Rev! Some of these cards are controversial in the Near Mint category but it is what it is.
Great idea for a video 👍 Grading can be tough.
Glad to see I’m not the only one who gets inconsistent “near mint” conditioned cards from TCGplayer. Lookin forward to seeing their grades.
My buddy won’t order from them anymore because of listed condition and what you receive is almost always different.

My experience with NM on TCG Player has been mostly positive. Probably worst I've gotten is similar to a PSA 8.
I think my results will be different lol solid though
