I must admit, I am used to the Sutherland recording of this, with all the range and heft she brings. Obviously, I did not expect Lott to match this, but still found myself enjoying her deliciously phrased performance. She moves fleetly through the bolero with a shining tone, and OH MY GOD, she caps it with a high E - I DID NOT know she had it in her! It might not be the sort of high E that qualifies you for Zerbinetta or Lakmé, but it's a high E, and it's LIVE!
