I've been a parent since the age of 17. My youngest was born at 31. At 17 I was married and financially independent and extremely invested in being the best parent I could be. Today, in my early 50s, I have a lot of understanding and empathy for the point you're attempting to make. Parents aren't to blame for everything. Every life has it's own purpose and karma.

Been there. He's 100% correct. My son passed at 31yo during an epileptic seizure in 2015. He refused all medical help offered him leading up to it. A parent can only do so much before it's out of their control and what will be, will be.

When they are of legal age there is nothing a parent can do if they refuse help!😢

The crappy judging thing? Karma usually comes arround to unteach THAT lesson. My 16 year old son was in the er because he was having trouble with his lungs. The nurse, finding out that he smokes, looked at me and said- why do you allow it? I looked right back at her and asked, do you have a way you know in which I can stop him. I’d really like to know!

If you’ve never had a child with an addiction or never had a child at all really need to think long and hard before giving any opinion, advice or even comment… just my personal opinion of course . I somehow was blessed with 2 children without any addictions but have siblings ( all raised the same , same parents etc ) who’ve lost their child (2 nephews)

My mother had schizophrenia. It wasn't the fault of my grandparents. People really lack grace on this issue.
