Hey, glad you're still doing this. I'm up to Flame Ruler now, and it def. feels true that people rematch less, especially characters that you don't see often. You'll get people that play like they've just been riding the lack of knowledge of their playstyle up to the higher ranks and are not interested in rematching. On the upside, I've not been plateauing as hard as I thought, so many people even in purple seem to have bad fundamentals, and now that we're getting nerves to the really annoying ones like Dragunov, people who just flowchart or spam seem a lot more beatable. My biggest problem remains sidestepping, it just seems very inconsistent. The running moves you stepped against Drag still hit me about half the time.
If you play King it's really hard to step Drag's WR2 because King's SS isn't very good AND he's very big! It's not worth trying unless they're doing it from across the screen unfortunately. In the patch tho it will only be +3 on block so you'll have WAY more options!
I've been using your advice about the forward 3 oki after TT, if you're in heat you can even sometime get a heat smash follow up when they're on the ground after the forward 3
People are not rematching because you're playing King, plain and simple. He's in the busted club, incredibly annoying to play against with the grab changes in T8 and the OP heat smash. The only logical explanation I can think of as to why he wasn't nerfed in 1.04 is because of the changes to CH grabs, or they plan to nerf grabs further in 1.05 (hopefully making them stepable again).
He is going to be nerfed in patch 1.05, it was stated at the top of the patch notes along others such as Victor, Paul, Lili etc. I don't think he's as broken as some of the worst offenders to be honest- he still has definite weaknesses in his game plan unlike the REAL top 5, what can the likes of Feng, Drag, Azucena, Alisa NOT do for example? Where was he at Evo Japan- didn't even make the top 32. I made a meme about it, but if people really hate fighting King and think he's way OP, just wait for Marduk to drop as DLC!
@@beigemaster yeah I agree, not as busted as the usual suspects, but it doesn't make him less annoying. He embodies what people criticise about T8: less defensive options (homing grabs) and forced, unearned mixups (jaguar sprint after heat smash on block). Marduk is gonna be nightmare fuel indeed. And of course, pay to lab! 🙃
Man I’m here hardstuck high yellow/low orange with Bryan/Lee for a week now, PS5 player I try rematching as often as possible since I’m still learning and I’m low rank anyways, but people still leave anyways and are afraid to lose points in low ranks for some reason. Maybe I do need a “cheesy” pick like King or Eddy just to feel satisfaction lmao
That's rough- Bryan and Lee are both pretty difficult characters to master, you need to have both good execution and good fundamentals to work those characters. Good news is that once you get that down, you'll be able to beat other players who rely on cheaper characters so you'll improve pretty quickly.
Wow. A tekken UA-camr calling out namco on their blatant 'pay-to-win' marketing strategy. I didn't think I'd see the day. I guess you must have bought and paid for this game for yourself. This type of marketing strategy is another reason why i will not be buying this game for ten or fifteen years or so...
I'm a teeny tiny channel and definitely bought the game myself and will always call out Bandai-Namco's BS practices when they do it, but I suspect they'd be a bit like Thanos with "I don't even know who you are!" XD
Yup, you strike me as the kind of person that even if you were a colossal channel you would still call them out! It's one of the things that keeps me tuning in 😊
Am i the only one thinks that king is on the nerf side as compared to tekken 7 because they have removed many launchers such as CH B1,CH DB3, SS2, CHFF1, jaguar sprint is not that much worth to remove all these launchers they just focused his gameplan to do only throws on high level he is now much difficult

I've been somewhat successful using the jumping (u4) against ice skating Lars players.
