Dyson Supersonic: Dyson’s motor is powerful but small-so small it hides in the handle. The Supersonic also uses a special microprocessor for controlling the heat effectively, preventing hair damage. Like the HyperAIR, the Supersonic also has a 1,600-watt motor with over a hundred thousand RPMs. When it comes to heat, the Supersonic can get up to 105°C/221°F and also has three levels of airflow, along with a cool shot option.
Shark HyperAIR: Shark’s dryer motor offers up the same power and RPMs and also offers three speed settings, and three temperature settings. I couldn’t find any declared temperature specs from Shark, but some articles I’ve seen that ran heat tests on both said they’re about the same. There’s also a cool shot button.
I will say though using the Dyson really leaves my hair feeling silky and smooth, something I didn’t really get with the Shark Hyper Air. So thanks to that luxurious feeling blow dry, I’m giving this matchup to Dyson.
Let’s look at the design.
Both the HyperAIR and Supersonic hair dryers are real lookers -each going for high end and sleek.
Shark HyperAIR: The champagne-colored model (known as Stone) is the most recognizable variant of the HyperAIR. Depending on where you live, you might be able to grab other colours too. It does have that premium metallic look but the body is actually made of high-quality plastic. The barrel is a bit wide and houses the motor contributing to the 1.1-pound overall weight. It feels well balanced to use.
Dyson Supersonic: The design of the Supersonic is nothing short of iconic. The device is made of durable ABS thermoplastic and it comes in a variety of finishes. Because the motor is so small, Dyson decided to put the motor in the handle which explains why the barrel is so short. It’s well balanced and easy to hold and maneuver.

Shark do3snt leave it frizzy. Its pretty good. But they can do something to eliminate flyway

I have the Shark and I found it heavy and awkward. Even though the Dyson looks similar, it was much more comfortable and user friendly.. my Shark will go to my a niece, my new Dyson is a keeper … my hair also looks and feels better., worth the extra money ( check sales and warehouse stores to save $$)

I have a Dyson blow dryer and the shark Flexstyle with a diffuser…. The shark does not compare to the Dyson. The shark is so so loud and takes forever to dry my hair. Also with the sharks diffuser attachment it feels like air is hardly coming out. Dyson is much quieter and my hair is dry so quickly. Not a completely fair comparison but the difference was so noticeable that if I’m going to splurge… It will only be in Dyson. The Shark just isn’t worth spending the money. I’d buy con air before I buy Shark again.

My Dyson lasted 25 months totally broke down 1 month after warranty up. And they do not fix them! Garbage
