Looks like Caro will be in his 80s by the time he finishes the LBJ biography. Let's all hope he (and his wife Ina) stay healthy long enough to maintain his unparalleled quality of work

Unique personality. Doesn't seem like an aggressive, hateful person. Yet what strength it takes to write books as he does. He must have a great deal of "power" deep inside of him, since he understands Johnson so well.

I so much appreciate this author. I am learning about mindfulness just via how he is and his life journey and how he researches and writes. I wish I have time to read his books as I am sure I will learn so much in depth.

I don't require additional volumes. I'm satisfied. If I finish what he's written now before I die, I'll be happy.

Much respect to this man's passion. He's probably gutted by the possibility that we may end up with a veep who is salivating at the thought at erasing part of LBJ's legacy.

To the contrary, medicare is the best thing to happen to the elderly- it used to mean
no health care and suffering in the elderly- before. Voting rights act, civil rights act for the poor meant real political power, Indian bill of rights and the list goes on. You haven't any idea of what you write, just enter anything without qualification as long as it is an opinion. Only the downtrodden knew and still remember what this
    has done for them.
    LBJ was amazing, the uber-politician.

A quick google search shows that his son Chase was sentenced to between 3 to 7 years in prison for stealing nearly a million dollars from his clients. Damn shame.

Caro is great but there was one (personal) lie here; His son WAS a lawyer but was disbarred and sentenced to prison in 2008 for theft of client funds.

Dedicated his life to small details? Those laws that were passed during the Great Scciety times were among the greatset pieces of legislation to pass in the history of this country,

Specificity. Specificity rules like the epiphanic campaign ledger of "powerbroker" money LBJ parcels out to congressmen. Another inimitable Caro interview.

"Rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated," Caro could well say, if he chose to borrow from Mark Twain. Two posts in this comments section report him as dead!!!! He is not. As of this writing (12/31/22) Caro is 87 and very much alive.
