Should do Geoff alot more, he's awesome
You should transcribe his cover of far over the misty mountains
@@rosoboy Mhmm yes, I also love me some fat D1 subharmonic.
strange, I've never seen quadruplets sing before, let alone one of them with a voice that deep
They aren’t actually quadruplets they all met in their 30s and just happen to look quite similar
That doesn't surprise me as much, their similar fashion sense does however
@@nitroh7745that happens all the time, last week I saw a couple of dopplegangers on the street and we started dancing a coreography we had wrotten in our genes
Geoff Castellucci is one man, he edits the video and audio so there is 4
You’re right, quadruplets are unusual…especially in 4/4 time.
He’s dropping 34 Hz like it’s nothing
Man becomes subwoofer
I've seen powerpoints with higher frequencies
BRO AHAHAHAHAA@@GeorgeCollier
He's got that Nintendo switch frame rate 😂
27.5 hz to be exact 🔥

The fact he can hit those notes whilst ALSO HITTING THOSE HIGHER NOTES is what's most amazing to me. Its cool enough to be able to sing at that croakingly low level, but then to have the rest of your range still in tact 😵💫. Baffling, awesome, and very cool 😂
Best part is he has gone lower and high before 😉
@@Stanley88845a good example is his oogey boogie man song, he goes super high and super low in that song
Subharmonics are one hell of a skill
@@samueldaniels8415 they’re not that hard
@@Stanley88845 They are not, and I never stated they are. Having basic reading comprehension is one hell of a skill as well.
OMG, yes! Thanks for featuring Geoff. His arranging skills for his channel and Voiceplay are also quite awesome!
Oogie Boogie man's gotta be my favourite
@@HalValla01it’s so so so hard to pick a favorite VoicePlay song, they’re all just that good! Oogie Boogie is definitely up there though, along with Nothing Else Matters and Valhalla Calling. As for Geoff’s solo work, my favorites are Ain’t No Sunshine, I See Fire, and Sound Of Silence
Awesome
THAT'S what I knew him from!
That stupidly Uberbass from their Phantom of the Opera video!!!
goddamn how people can control their lower voices that well
Not only does he have incredible control over his lower register, he’s also an amazing singer in his higher registers. A lot of folks sound great in their normal range, but their singing quality tends to nosedive when they reach into higher/lower registers. Geoff has a remarkable ability to sound good no matter which of the 5 octaves he sings in.
A very rare talent indeed.
@@zarasha8220 lots and lots of practice I guess
AND sound editing
@@joeyouyang and like a 100 takes
Geoff has a video on how to sing lower and he shows some of the techniques he uses. Pretty interesting.
Sub harmonics are crazy. Geoff is REALLY good at those. Plus Voiceplay is also a really good group he sings with!
geoff has said that he used no subs for this cover, it was all just chest voice
And the Ab0 is wrong its a still extremely impressive chest Ab1
@@sovietunion6109Ab1 defs sounds like subharmonics to me, idk
@@Jefferson-ly5qeits chest-voice
@@Jefferson-ly5qe its chest but its also an f#1
That low A flat near the end sounded very powerful, I like that one.
It was a double bass
@@BassMasterMJ it's lower than a double bass, even with an extension (goes to C1 while the guy hit an A♭0)
@maxrauchenberger Ah ok.
This guys voice is ridiculously deep. By that i mean deep, meaning having lots of depth, not low. He sings a low E and it sounds an octave lower than my low E even though it isnt just because of that depth.
Srsly, even James Earl Jones would envy that rich velvety bass. Dang.
NOT ONLY is it insanely deep, and NOT ONLY can is his range insane as well, but he SOUNDS SO GOOD DOING IT
Oh shit, George discovered modern bass singers! Can't wait for Tim Foust/Home Free to (hopefully) show up at some point.
The legend Geoff Castellucci himself, thanks for featuring him.
Please do more Geoff transcriptions! He's such an incredible bass!
good thing the double bass is here to add some top end to the mix
0:02 - 0:09 this was so disney villain, especially that "step aside" :0
FOR REAL. THAT LOW Ab SOUNDS CRAZY!!!
When he sings “step aside”
He’s going down to an Eb1 which is NUTS but it’s not lower than that, he also sings an Eb2 right after on “a lot of men died” as like a “call/response” type of tune
No f#1
As a bass, it's not necessarily the depth of his voice that is impressive but rather the control he has at those notes. They sound super eased and well put together.
I totally agree with this! 👍 As an Alto II, the same goes for our low notes...
Man, this makes me miss HS choir. I sang behind the basses in class, and we had a blast - especially when I was sick, and could literally hit their notes! 😂
I absolutely love this arrangement! This will always be my fav!
I'd love to see a transcription of Oogie Boogie's Song a capella cover by VoicePlay. Playfully beautiful, perfectly showcases Geoff's voice
Ohhh THIS is why his bass notes sound so familiar! Thanks for connecting the dots for me lol
0:04 why did he sound like markiplier for a second lol
Geoff Castelluci my beloved
I've had the pleasure of seeing Geoff and Voiceplay live in the past and these low notes are literally seat rumblers lol
His voice isn't just deep, it's subterranean.
bro what
This is so impressive, this is the type of singing that you can only see once in a blue moon.
His voice is amazing. It's actually crazy that he hit a G#1 in his chest voice. I can do that in chest fry, not in chest
When the note is so low, you can count the frequency.
The absolute GOAT Geoff Castellucci. And he says he's not even a bass.
I can sing almost that low (down to around the lower C, so most of those notes but not the lowest few) and I'd consider myself a bass singer, but not with nearly as much fullness and depth as he has. It's really impressive when guys can sing that super deep and so seemingly effortlessly. Very inspiring! With some training maybe I could go that deep one day.
omg the key signature is genius - It's for the old joke "What do you get when you drop a piano down a mineshaft? *A-flat minor* " xD
Geoff is amazing, love him as a solo artist and Voiceplay all together, those bass notes are enough to make a grown man cry
my beard grew a beard after this video
I’ve only heard Colm McGuinness do this song before but Geoff’s bass voice is also really impressive
I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU TO COVER HIM FOR YEARS NOW. THANK YOU!
WOW, his range is amazing!
This guy is an insane bass singer. An insane singer in general
So here’s a little thing I’ve learned from my time in vocals:
Basses tend to have the widest vocal ranges overall when it comes to what they can pull from. Because basses have more vocal cord, and higher frequencies are made by stretching vocal cords and vibrating them at higher frequencies, basses are able to relax their vocal cords or use alternate techniques to produce significantly lower notes as well as stretch the vocal cords to produce significantly higher notes than their chest voice ordinarily could produce.
I am a basso cantante (lyric bass) with a chest range of A1 to roughly C4, but my range is strongest in my middle and high register (about F#2 to A3 is my strong area) but I can extend my voice down to about G0 with vocal fry and up to B5 with falsetto/masque.
i must meet the quota for the company
Thinking the same thing
Look, this obviously very impressive, but also, *Derek Zoolander walking into the mine*
Everybody: Wow! he's such a good singer! His range is insane!
Me: That key signature is nightmarish
That's actually just B!
The flats make it extra lower. More flats, more lower.
These key signatures are brought to you by Piano Gang :P
(the F flat is certainly a choice, but I'd still prefer this over like D major/b minor for technically difficult stuff on piano - black keys go brr)
Edit: on second thought, it's for the joke! "What do you get when you drop a piano down a mineshaft? *A-flat minor* "
His voice is lower than the amount of money in my bank account
I only just discovered this video, and I want to compliment this community on the extreme sass level in the comments. Very enjoyable vid and commentary!
Markiplier, Matt Mercer and The Dwarves of Moriah are shaking in their boots rn
ive already watched this like 5 times lol, different days btw
We love to see it. Maybe others will be featured soon. Hoping for some TBG Acapella members to be shown eventually.
Wtf. The average person has no idea how hard this is to do. This is true talent.
Dude looks like he's down to one last breath
I love Geoff
No way Geoff Castellucci made it to the George collier channel
:0 a Geoff transcription!! thank you!!
Didn't know XQC had such pipes...
It's about time Geoff Castellucci gets the recognition he deserves, he is such a good singer and can make some songs ACTUALLY sound really good
Naaah NO WAYYY you did one on Geoff! Let's gooo!
Did not expect some Geoff on here but I am pleasantly surprised
oh my. that was... stunning.
Hey hear me out I’m a straight dude but this guy
Well maybe you're not as straight as you think hahaha
(No judgement, of course! Full support c:)
With vibrations so low that even the strongest foundations start to shake.
if he whispers 'baby' in my ear with his sexiest voice
oh goodness gracious
I'm surprised this is the first Geoff video I've seen here
This gives some major Phineas and Ferb vibes for some reason
You should do this for more bass singers
Love goeff's channel its really good
Voice is lower than my rock bottom
hit puberty twice, cloned himself thrice
his range is insane
Besides the low and powerful voice, I really like how he articulates everything clearly without mumbling
I mean I hear people saying that the transcribing is truly phenomenal and mind blowing, but it's the video titles that inspire me
My boy Geoff finally appeared on this channel! How come I've never seem this video before?
man sounded like a foghorn
respect for the bass
Markiplier, IS THAT YOU?!
Im surprised he didnt hit bis big ballsack on the ground with that pickaxe!
Thanks for this George, would love more Geoff Castellucci & VoicePlay!
Bro sounds like a tuba
Is it just me, or does he kind of sound like Markeplier?
Never expected to see Geoff on this channel, but he's absolutely stellar!
Geoff has the best bass voice I know
Now do the oogie boogie song lol
You can hear individual overtones when he goes low, it's like throat singing
Crazy
Markiplier been real quiet since this dropped
I respectfully feel this is the first time I've disagreed with George's transcription.
holy shit george collier discovered voiceplay
oh haha!it sounds cool
He kind of sounds like if Markiplier dedicated his career to being a vocalist
I’m reading those “Mf”s as a compliment for the singer: “That MF!”
the way you get a voice this deep, or at least one of the ways, is to do throat sit ups. get into position to do a sit up, but only raise you head up and down. this will strengthen your throat muscles and can increase your vocal range. not your average pitch, but the range you can achieve.
The muscle doing that is the sternoclaidomastoid. I've never heard of neck training making your voice deeper or giving it more range. Boxers, wrestlers and race drivers all train their neck and I have never hear of effects on the voice.
DA
I love this dudes voice
You should really do more Geoff.
Legitimately how can people sing that low?
A good head start in genetics and lots of practice
He has some videos on his channel where he explains it a bit.
Here is a playlist where he goes into it and shows that you can train it up a lot!
ua-cam.com/play/PLWYwsGgIRwA_cdejWZTAeZSQEtKDJi5YC.html
With some training, we can all learn to control our lower register a bit better. But there will be a limit that is dictated by your anatomy. However, there is a technique you can learn that can extend your lower notes significantly - about an octave. It's called subharmonics. But even that hits an anatomy limit. I don't think Geoff uses subharmonics in this clip except for that first "step aside". That low Ab at the end (and elsewhere) is part of Geoff's natural range.
@@oldguydoesstuff120 Nope, Geoff didn't use anz subharmonics in this entre piese, this one was all chest(low part)
Hes hitting 2 striking tools together without safety glasses!? Dude is a huge badass
That pedal Gb was incredible. Im a trombone player btw. So pedal notes my jam
Alright man, what the flip, are we just gonna ignore that time signature? That thing looks like it'll give me testicular ball cancer.
Bro is literally a living tuba.
Too mANY FLATS IM SCARED
If you have ever listened to this guy, he sings in an acapella group called voice play and this man has the widest range known to man
What about Tim Waurick from Vocal Spectrum/TimTags/TimTracks? He's been able before to span 9 octaves!
@@wyattstevens8574 that man's got almost 4 octave chest range more impressive than those I guess
I started watching expecting one or two voice cracks, but this was very good 😂
One of my ex's better decisions was introducing me to Sixteen Tons/Geoff - you can't not be impressed by this guy
a brother in arms that can drop as low as me
I love geoff
I am also doing puberty twice, shout out trans king
one of my favorite songs of all time, wow this is nuts
