    I really love the way you have divided the land and preparing for the garden coz this is what we also do back home in Africa, we like to purchase large pieces of land (4000sqm) and we divide it into two plots, one plot for the house, parking, garden (flowers and grass or lawn)etc and the other plot for gardening as in growing vegetables, fruit trees etc.

    I have red palm and some of the flowers you referenced at my house. Specifically, I have three red palms at my garden. The price is accurate; a thousand Cedis each for the big ones. The smaller red palm cost 500 Cedis each, but you would have to wait for them to grow bigger.

    Asher , the quotation for gardening is too high in terms of labour, materials, plants and even transportation, my advice is that you hire general labourers and get them to prepare the land and do everything that the gardener wants to do.
    All that gardener would do is hire those same general labourers and tell them what he wants them to do. Most people in Africa already have good knowledge of agriculture and the labourers may even advice about best practise.
    80GhC per labourer per day should suffice
    You are being ripped off big time.
    Preparing the soil does not require infusing it with fertiliser soil in Africa is very fertile.
    Just buy some 4-5 kgs of chicken manure to put down a little every where you plant seeds.
    In fact in the rainy season, the speed that weeds would be growing would have wishing the soil was less fertile.
    The only preparation of land required in planting season is creating raised beds or mounds. For your land 2 labourers should do it in a day for no more than 160GhC.
    Go and buy all your seedlings and suckers yourself. By using direct labour you can get it done for less than 20% the prices you were quoted and you would have more control of the process.
    But with the labourers you need to be on top of them to ensure they are doing their job as you asked especially planting seeds, because they can take your seeds and tell you they have been planted and you won't find out until weeks later, when nothing is growing. So do the seed planting alongside each labourer so you can confirm they are being planted.

    Desert Rose is a very beautiful plant when in bloom, we have one that is bicolor, red and white. However, it is also very expensive so I think your quoted price is good, we bought ours which was medium size, for 200ghc a year ago.
    Depending on the plant sizes, the prices seem okay but I believe you could get some of the regular plants, hibiscus etc, cheaper at the Parks and Garden head office at Cantoment. That’s where we get all our regular local variety plants. I would have said do it yourself but that is a lot of work and sometimes it is best to buy your time and freedom and enjoy watching the flower garden done by someone else. The vegetable garden though can be an easy work when the ground has been prepared by someone else.
    Your garden will look beautiful. Please take good care of it. I also wish you had more local flowering plants that do not require watering or much water during the dry season because it’s less work and less water usage. Keep all those palms, coconut, and mango tree away from the walls, manholes, and pavers because their roots go deep and wide and can damage them. How about avocado plant would you get one?
    You have done very well.

    Asher and Gad greetings, thanks for your sharing's, on building in Ghana, fantastic information. It would be very challenging " to rip you off " Yaweh is real. Sorry this may be the wrong video to raise this point. On your AC videos one area I was hoping you would cover would be a DC air conditioning unit and the comparatives to the AC inverter units. Do you think its too late to look at this area?

    Does cost involve garden soil? Cus depending on the crop, all those stuff (mulch, etc) might not be necessary. My friend planted carpet grass without much and they're doing well. I also did crop science back in the day. The organic mulch and stuff also need to decay before certain plants cus they produce heat when decaying

    Just make price comparisons for your landscaping needs. I have one question in relation to security. Is the crime rate in Ghana so bad that we need to have alarms, burglar bars, and electric fences? It seems I would be moving in a prison. Why not have the security fence or simply just have one form of security? It's not a good promotion for Ghana.

    • @abokoeguale9783
      @abokoeguale9783 2 роки тому

      Even in the west with NO alarm or burglary proofs,house burglary is still high and a menace. It's easy to invade someone's house abroad than in Ghana.

    • @Koj0
      @Koj0 2 роки тому +1

      If you don’t fix the burglar bars.. you risk having your electrical wires and air condition copper pipes stolen during the building process and that cost alot. Its highly recommended

    Too expensive. The reason why you get ripped off with so many things is because your face is so well known and your accent means the mighty pound. Also because you want to be part of everything for oversight and filming purposes you're unable to allow a local family member to front for you.
