That barn of yours seems like it would make for about as good a place for creative inspiration as one could hope to find. Thanks for this song along with all the others of yours that I’ve been catching up to these last few months. Your music has in turn become a place that I find myself returning to again and again to find creative inspiration on top of just flat out enjoying the hell out of it for it’s own sake. Come to think of it I think that might make it my favorite barn in the world as well. Cheers,
This was the first Father's Day since my dad died in January. It wasn't on my radar to be hit so hard by this day. I'm an atheist in a family of mostly evangelicals. Our Dad was a devoted Southern Baptist, but saw the hypocrisy and embedded cruelty of the American right. He was the kindest person I've ever known. Donald Trump might be one of few people he wouldn't have let into his enormous tent. This song, with it's unpretentious love made me think of him.
Saw Willi a few months ago in Toronto opening for Danny on Halloween. I admit, on paper he didn't seem like my kind of thing and arrived late intending to skip the opener. I mistimed it and got there right on time to see his whole set. I'm glad I got to. His presence is absolutely incredible; it's hard to describe how positive the energy was in the room after he got the whole place singing along to this song. Even now, I can't help but smile thinking about an entire overbooked venue, full of punks crammed in shoulder-to-shoulder, yelling at the top of their lungs about universal love and acceptance. There were many highlights that evening, but this song was the one I treasure most. As good as these videos are, they don't come close to the man in the flesh. If you get the chance, see him in person. With love.
The lyrics in the song made my idiot soul split in two and fall away as halves. Loved the devil spitting on the Catcher in the Rye line. Always impressed with the song writing of his man!
Damn willie, I find more and more reasons to look up to you man. Listening to you speak your wisdom is getting to me right when I need it most. I am surrounded by people I am struggling to love. I am tested relentlessly. Hope youre well
GO Willi !!! Great seeing /hearing your magic! "Sing until you love yourself, love yourself till the end" my favorite line...hope I got it right? Looking forward to seeing you up on Mt. Sequoyah soon
@@Willi-Carlisle I'm hungry for more Willi. Whilst I've got you, 2 more things: 1; bring yourself to Wales sometime soon and sing for us live. 2; record and release your 'Ballad of Penny Evans', a more beautiful version I have not found. Thanks Willi, and take care.
“Just sing until you love yourself and love until you die”
Is one of the best things I’ve ever heard ❤
My favorite barn in the world, and you sure made it look good.

Why
@@anointedplumber it's my favorite barn 'cause it's in one of my favorite places. It's a lil intentional community in Stone County, Arkansas.

I can also attest to the greatness of live Willi!
“To live a clean life and treat everybody well it’s a big pain in the butt.” Man, but it’s so worth it!
The way Willi leans in to the "ya gotta let everybody in" is just so aggressively loving. Its great
Emphasis is so strong with him and it really makes his music. Hell of a story teller and poet with his tunes.
Heck, yeah! The big guy deserves every bit of love he can fit in that big tent!
That heart sure is a big tent! The worst part is the mess-makers don't stick around to help with the cleanup.

This song is one of my favorites of all time. Consistently makes me cry.
I think 6k of this video's 12k views are my wife and I. We watch this video so often.

Another killer song. Y’know, I dreamed I was a tipi, then I dreamed I was a yurt. I was two tents. I need a bigger one.
