she's a realist. I like that she knows what she wants and her crowd and wants her own lane where she is niche and indie, not mainstream but can win awards or make a popular song if she needs too. it's the best route for her sound. it shouldn't be oversaturated in the media, just takes away from how special it is if you hear the same sound constantly.
Her music is just fresh, its cut from a whole different cloth and it’s definitely deserving to be mainstream and she deserves all the success she’s getting whether she believes so or not
It's classic UK garage. Not going to say it isn't "fresh" to you but it's not really fresh to anyone who already knew the genre. Fresh to pop listeners yes.

Mind you she is blowing up over here in Nigeria too. Even before the ice spice collab i knew a bunch of girls who said you were their top 5 at the time and ngl at the time you were also in my top 5.

Same in Ghana as well. Although we are a niche community here. She did blow up because of the Ice Spice collab but back in late 2021/ early 2022, there was almost no one here who knew her.

I agree with her. I don’t think her music SHOULD be mainstream but I think it’s a logical next step for our culture. The underdog becomes the hero. Her fashion sense is also somewhat modest and reminiscent of the 2007’s era which I think a lot of us from that era have been wanting to return to this kind of an aesthetic for some time now.

I think it’s way cooler not being “mainstream”, only certain people love and appreciate her music and it never gets boring, all those mainstream people are overplayed and it becomes background noise at some point.
I think so too. she will go down a lana del ray route. can win awards, make pop hits if she needs extra cash, but mostly will stay in an indie mysterious lane for her niche fans. it wouldn't make sense for her to be so mainstream and saturated in the media constantly. I do want to hear her more in the radio tho.
