@@NerdWorldEmpire yeah and I’ve noticed that I’m just saying my ADHD brain when I see the ones I like the weird lines going across the screen it’s hard to pay attention to what you’re saying and I love what you say and how you do it this is perfect at least my brain. Again i only one person so not trying to judge

I wouldn't say the Dominion considered the capture of the Jem Hadar warship a provocation rather than them "allowing" the death of a founder.
Perhaps, Starfleet either way seemed to be pushing their luck with the Dominion. I figure they thought war might be inevitable if not now then one day so gather as much intelligence as possible before that happened. Romulans ever the puppet masters other than their attempt to destroy the Changeling home world did seem to be the most restrained on the issue. Probably hoping they'd destroy each other.
If the Federation would just let go of this naive pacifism most of these combat deaths would never have happened . They can still be explorers and scientists without being weak, to quote Theodore Roosevelt “ speak softly but carry big stick”.
The Jem’Hadar were better fighters than the Klingons it seems.
@@Nom_AnorVSJedi perhaps better *_soldiers_* but the Klingons were better *_warriors_* (allegedly)....

I have to disagree with our opening statement. I think the Dominion was more responsible for provoking the war then the Federation. The Federation didn't even know the Dominion existed for the first two years after the worm hole was opened up. There were rumors of a nation called the Dominion but there was never anything concrete until they kidnapped Sisko and destroyed the Odyssey. Sisko even tells them that they had no idea the Dominion was real or where there specific borders were and the response from the Jem'hadar was that the Dominion claimed everything on their side of the worm hole and then brags about how many ships and colonies they have destroyed. Despite that the Federation tried to deal with things diplomatically and that ended with Sisko and crew taken prisoner and in a VR simulator for their troubles.
The rational thing to do would be to contact the powers of the Alpha quadrant and work out a diplomatic solution to thier issues. The Federation would have made a deal and respected the Dominion's actual borders but the Dominion never tried because they never wanted peace. The moment they realized they had a path to the Alpha quadrant they began attacking ships and infiltrating the nations of the Alpha quadrant. After such a disaster of a first contact it was pretty clear the Dominion was a xenophobic, imperialistic, and paranoid state that viewed everything and everyone that they didn't control as a threat to be delt with.
