Some wonderful scenery. Thank you. The GoPro does such a great job, but it never quite captures the majesty of the distant views. The wide angle lense, maybe? During the walk, I bet those views were lovely. I find that the GoPro is great at picking up beautiful skies, though. Good to see you out and about again. Thanks again for the video.

Thank you 😀 Yes, unfortunately the wide angle lens doesn't help with views, but I try to zoom in with the other camera sometimes. The views definitely don't come across in the video as well as they look in reality.

Thanks for this walk and the historical nature of the surroundings. Also glad to hear you bring the word "Awesome" back into your verbal descriptions of the surroundings, its been missing for a while.😄

lol, thanks Ian, I have been trying hard to avoid using the 'awesome' word so much but sometimes I can't help myself 🤣

@@terryyarrow1230 You not using the word "awesome" would be like signing off without saying "until next time". Its your "hook" word and I think we are waiting for it.😆🤣

Lovely walk as usual Terry thank you - I read in an archaeological magazine recently that sadly all 'discovered' burial mounds in the UK have been excavated; I'm divided on it - one side of me thinks that's great for historical research but the other side mourns the fact they are have all been emptied of our heritage 😞 Let's hope the article was wrong 🙂

Ah, thank you 😀 I'm with you on the burial mounds - I had assumed that they would all have been excavated but kind of hoped that some might still be intact. I still prefer to think that way 😀

Fantastic historical walk Terry 🧙‍♂, so much fascinating stuff. I think the green line across the field you pointed out from Penbury Knoll, was the footpath you walked up to take you back to Ackling Dyke possibly, in fact as soon as you walked into the field I could see it straight away. Or maybe I've got my bearings wrong 😊. Could the emphasis of Bowling-Green Lane actually be the green lane called Bowling, if you get my drift, and maybe at one stage there was heather up on the Down, hence the ling part? That just leaves the Bow to ponder 🤔. Sorry to hear your ankle's been giving you gyp again, I suspect the backpacking irritated it again, cos I think you said you'd been free of the arthritis for a while, surely it's not a coincidence it's flared up once more. Just saying. Keep 'em coming, always enjoyable. Bev.

Thanks Bev 😀 Some interesting theories there - usually when I research names, something comes up online but not this time. There are a number of Bowling Green Lane/Alley places in the UK but nothing has turned up to explain why......unless I just haven't found it yet 🤣 It is possible that the backpacking irritated my ankle but it was ok immediately after and only started to give me gyp a couple of weeks later. Its a mystery to me 🤣 Terry

I've had back problems for years, one of the rewards of being an electrician and moving heavy furniture, and my back went out one day in the shower reaching for the soap!! The chiropractor told me it could've happened weeks earlier, but that certain movement was the final straw. Don't know if it's the same with arthritis though.

Lot of bones - I walk in that same place and there are dozens of burial mounds across all these downs, he only shows you one barrow cemetery here, and there are several - the guy who owns Chalk Pit Field there has a museum of his finds that you can see by appointment
