Even after all these years, my heart still aches remembering this tragedy, and for the people who lost their lives. I still remember vividly watching the news here in England, and will always feel guilty how it never sunk in until the 1 year anniversary.
@Toto567 True. After almost 18 years, it still difficult to imagine that this tragedy struck humanity, all the innocent lives taken away for no reason and the loss of the Twin Towers. The whole thing didn't struck me until about 1-2 years later indeed. Also from Western Europe.
Don't feel guilty, this event was beyond the human comprehension. No one could have ever imagined something like this happening. It probably didn't fully sink in for a lot of people until after the fact.
A very moving video. We all see and feel the emotion when it comes to the horror that happened that day. The reflecting pools are kind of spooky. The water falling down the sides of the pools kinda reminds me of the tragedy, as the tons of steel, concrete, glass, and people fell when each tower collapsed. Also, it is a let down that the original size of each footprint of the towers are not represented. Each side of those towers were 207 feet wide. For whatever reason, the persons in charge of the construction of the September 11 Memorial did not follow those dimensions. It is kinda haunting, but still, i will visit the memorial someday. It's definitely on my bucket list! Thank you to the channel owner for uploading this. NEVER FORGET.
i remember that day vividly. from being woken up that morning by my mom, to everybody i called to tell them to turn on the t.v. i remember how that day just seemed to drag on from early morning to evening and how that night people took to the streets with all sorts of signs and banners.
Hey, I'm entering a 9-11 memorial film into a film contest for my high school in arizona, and some of these shots would be great for the credits (the film just runs over the events of, but the credits will be over the ending so you can see the respects people payed to them.) Anyways, would it be alright if I used around 15 seconds of this for the credits? Thanks a million!
I think they are aesthetically pleasant and very clever. However, they strike me as very dangerous. I don't like to look into a deep pit that I might not be able to climb out of.
This is the point, the pools can never be filled, representing the void left behind from the attacks. According to the architect, Michael Arad, the pools represent “absence made visible.” Although water flows into the voids, they can never be filled.
