I'm still a Will Smith fan, but not a fanatic. I'll still watch any movie he puts outs... period. Because I enjoy escaping into good stories & good acting. BUT!☝🏾 I do not believe he was sincerely crying during his speech. I think he was ashamed & knew what he did looked bad, so he cued his acting skills, and mustered up some tears to run interference against the coming backlash.
I read Will's book, and bro is hecka smart & emotionally intelligent. And with every step he took towards Chris, his mind was flashing every possible consequence, and whether to turn back around, but he followed through instead. I'm sure it was a surreal moment for him, given the immense world stage he was on. Afterwards, he probably thought "Well, the deed is done. World, I'm bracing myself to see where the chips may fall."
Read his book, or listen to his audible narrated edition, and you'll understand what I'm saying.
