It is very tender and magical to see how animals respond when they are loved and decide to trust their humans. It is a joy to see your rescued birds have adopted you in return.
Hehe thanks what ive done is wstch all 2023 video,'s then gone back to the very first video you uploaded featuring the wolf trotting along the side of the road from there ive watched upto around halfway into 2016. Having a ball inbetween filming my own series of Visitors to my bird feeder. Encoding one now so that should be up in the next couple of hours.
My grandmother had a pet crow when she was a girl in the early 1900s. It would fly to school with her and wait in a tree and then fly home with her after school.
That's true, they remember faces and if a human is cruel or very nice. If they remember a human being nice, they'll follow them and even stay with that human, which is frickin adorable! But if a human is cruel, they know to either stay away or hurt the person if possible.
I recently saved a crow from a bush it was wet and could not fly. I took it home and put it in a big extra cage we had. A few hours ago I put him outside and he stared at me and flew away.. a hour ago he randomly came back I made a crow sound I learned how to make and he replied a few minutes ago he flew away, I hope he has a good life.
I also have a crow here in germany, and i also have a dog. The crow is copying the dogs movement and behaiviour. He even brings sticks and annoys people.
I have a friend who is native American. He always took early morning walks and sat in prayer in the woods around his home. After some time he noticed the crows and other critters like some squirrels and a deer would observe him closely Well...that turned into treating them all with walnuts almonds and such and that lead to him having a swarm of critters at his front door waiting for the walk every day. Lol. He would leave the home and you would see literally a hundred crows follow him into the woods. It was like he had a black cloud that followed him everywhere. And the squirrels began to take carpet from the porch for their nests. After several summers he began to have generations of squirrels and crows. It was mind boggling and beautiful.
EpoxyMuffin yeah, animals like crows and rats are so underrated! People say rats are dirty and unfriendly but they clean them self a lot and they’re actually quite playful
She's a contented bird who loves her adopted parents, and looking as healthy as can be. I read that crows need a certain amount of sunlight to be able to process their vitamins properly, so that outside time is a great health tonic.
I think crows are some of the most amazing birds out there. In the wild, it's like they have their own society, with a justice system and all. They recognize threats and remember said threats for years, and usually can teach each other about the threat another might possess. But they also remember the good and friendly encounters, meaning that unusually friendly animals and kind humans can have some amazing interactions with wild crows. They even have funerals and full blown investigations when a fellow crow dies!
Thank you Tino for your explanations -- most people have no idea of their brilliance and complexity. I recall a documentary that was among the most moving ever. Your reminder makes me yearn to be in the company of a species which, among other things is not in the throes of self- destructing.
I used to have a pet crow too! I found it as a baby when it fell out of an enormous tree and there was no way we could get it back up there. We brought it home and took care of it. Even when it grew up and learnt how to fly it stayed with us even though we tried to make it join the other crows but it got too attached with us. It died sadly due to old age
Actually it was lucky enough to die of old age and all because of you saving its life after it fell from that tree. You did a good thing and you got to share your life with another creature of this amazing planet Earth 🌏. ✌
I love your crow! When i was a child my mother rescued a squirrel whose mother was hit by a car. She raised it until it could go outside on its own. But even then it stayed in a tree in our back yard and scratched on the door several times a day for a walnut. His name was squeaky.
Crows are incredibly smart they can learn alot of things very quick. I had a friend that had a crow his name was Sam and he always went Uh Oh too bad when ever we messed up something that bird knew how to taunt and enjoyed it.
The bowl was just put there for her to have a drink of water after her snack. In other videos we show our birds having baths in bigger bowls. Also we do not clip her wings at all. Her tail feathers have not developed properly and cannot fly well enough.
The obvious trust Maple (& your other beautiful birds) have for both of you, & the obvious love & devotion you have for them, touches my very soul...It practically makes me weak in the knees because the love is so pure...Bless you all...Even the birds chirping so sweetly in the background...By the way I LOVE to see birds (like Maple) run... I find it so endearing... :)
@@chv72 Interesting, the Carrion crows (Corvus corone) outside my window answered your american crows in the video! 😄 I guess I have to try this again in the park where I go feed some crows. See their reaction....
I had a very similar experience to this. While living in England, we had our chimney swept. We didn't realise that a Jackdaw nest had been built above it and 2 baby birds fell into our sooty chimney. One was seriously injured. Jackdaws are intelligent and very similar to crows. We raised them, taught them to fly, fed them live worms and smuggled them into places they shouldn't have been. I was 9 at the time and the interaction with wild birds was so rewarding. Jack and Dora became more confident with their flying, and one day, they disappeared and never came back. Jackdaws are very social birds and they can form communities with Jackdaws outside their own family. We always planned to release them, but as a kid it broke my heart. However, I'm extremely grateful for what must have been the most amazing experience of my life so far. Yeah, so thanks for listening, random viewer :)
I fully understand your feelings. I had a time of my life with a flock of pigeons which started with the only one wild couple five years ago. Many of them were named and I remember each of them and every name I gave, eventhough some of them moved away because the territory was not big enough for everybody. I took care for them which was extremely tough especially at winter time. People in my country are full of prejudice, they hate pigeons and they have almost driven them out. Some of "my" pigeons - young and healthy - suddenly dissapeared and never came back which means they are not alive anymore because pigeon is extremely bound to his territory ... My heart is still broken but I am thankful for every day I spent with them and for every pigeon who still fly to me to get some feeding. They sleep elsewhere .. somewhere ... :/
What a lovely crow. She clearly loves the affection. I put out grapes for the crows and magpies every day. It's wonderful watching them come to the bird feeder and trying to carry off two at a time. I used to have a blackbird that would sit on the fence in my garden, waiting to see me in the kitchen. As soon as he saw me, he'd fly to the window. That was his way of saying, "Can you throw me a grape onto the patio, please?" Of course, I always did.
I love crows, they are so intelligent it's really awesome. They are real problem solvers, uses tools like sticks and such. They understand causality, can reason and remember human faces. Crows solve logical puzzles, such as pushing and pulling things in a certain order to get to food. And can pass the mirror test which seems the bird is self aware.
Given the intelligence of birds like crows, it would honestly not surprise me if it learned to play fetch. Maybe not with a ball, but some sort of object. :)
I love crows, I fed one from my car and poured a little water on the ground because of how politely he asked for food and water, unlike the nasty seagulls around here that make terrible noises and crap everywhere
I kinda like seagulls cuz of how goofy and ballsy they are. They know what chip bags look like and will make an active effort to break in and steal chips and chip bags, so they can at least learn meaning they have some kind of intelligence. And they can travel in packs to make more mischief. Add that with their funny laugh caw thing and you get a really funny bird that need the human handout. But idk, maybe I just like seeing the chaos they make to an otherwise boring beach/coastline.
Crows are very smart- Some can do puzzles and open a maze to get a treat while having to decide which 'tool' is the right one- lots on YT about them! Good post- Thanks.
Maple was having a nice time. She was mischivous knocking the water over. She must of wanted the bigger bowl to jump in. The shine on her looks amazing she looks like she's been highly polished. Pleasant video💕💕💕
Aww she’s cute!! She probably likes to be pet because one of the way crow families interact is communal preening. She even lingers near you and stretches her head and neck out to ask for pets like a wild crow would ask its mate to be preened! Adorable!
Cute. Reminds me of my pet female pigeon whome I raised from a featherless chick. She loved me as though I was her Mama. She's follow me everywhere. If I was driving, I'd have her standing on the seatback. Really funny if I was turning tightly. She's lean into the turns. If I stopped in traffic, and there were young children in the adjacent car, the kids would yell, "Look, there's a bird in that car!" The pigeon would go flying every morning for a few hours before returning to her outside porch perch. One day she was vomiting some type of corn and acting lethargic. By that night it was clear that she was Ill. I took her to the Vet the next morning. She had been poisoned by the same type of feed that Casinos in town 7 miles away, put on their roofs to kill off the pigeons so they don't poop on the light facades. It's been 10 years but I still miss that bird. She was actually able to show me affection as I rubbed her neck. What was really funny is when i brought up an outdoor scene on my laptop PC. She'd climb down from the back of my chair to get a better look. Of interest she pooped on me only once in 7 months, and she was a clean bird.
Thanks for telling us the story of this pigeon! So sad to hear he got poisoned! They are lovely birds! I (Kullike) also saved one pigeon chick years ago when I was still in Estonia. When he was grown up, I took him to the beautiful park with pond by the president's palace where people were always feeding birds - ducks, swans, pigeons, all kinds of birds. This was a very safe place for all the birds. When I released him, he first went and walked among other pigeons ( there were LOTS of them! Then he went for a little flight to a tree. Sat there for a while. Then flew back to me as if saying thank you! or Good buy! and them flew off over the trees. I never saw him again.
I live in a rural, mountain region in southern Colorado, and I have befriended the crows and ravens that are residents within this territory. They have graciously accepted me and approve of this being home to me as well. Every morning the fly to one of the tall trees near my home and call out to have our morning chats before they fly off to do all the beautiful things they do throughout the day. We live in an alpine valley, so I can almost always see where they are throughout the day. Such a joy, and so smart! I LOVE your videos, you two are so wonderful to your birds. It is clear that they are extremely happy, healthy birds that want for nothing as they have all they could ever dream of! Bless you and your beautiful family, and thank you for the tips for optimal care! I don't pet or house these animals, but I do throw them snacks every day so I'm happy to learn what to look out for in their diets. My raven couple only gets treats of mice that are collected from water bucket traps in our yard near entryways to our storage areas (and I will splurge and buy frozen feeder mice from a reputable supplier that is trusted by the local falconers who rehabilitate birds of prey and corvids). Anyways, I love meeting fellow friends of corvids, sorry for the long message, you two are just absolutely darling and very inspiring. Thank you for your uplifting content! PS- the video of Maple hanging out in the yard with you two just made me melt! Take care, friends. Om. Jennifer
All the dislikes are by people who don’t understand how beautiful crows are, even after seeing this girl form a beautiful bond. I hope one day they understand their beauty.
That's wonderful!!! I imagine you all have a heartwarming bond, lots of "warm fuzzies" and lasting smiles .. truly. Maple appears very intelligent & emotional. Is maple an actual, God- made bird w/no genetics alterations? SUCH a great pet, riiiiight?! Enjoy each other! 💞
Watching your story with Maple makes me so happy, knowing people like you found her and treat her so well. Corvids are absolutely wonderful birds, and they deserve our respect. Thank you for sharing this.
Thank you so much for sharing this amazing video! I am always looking forward to another sweet journey involving you both and your companions! I also LOVED "Sammy's" birthday video..they're ALL so sweet and loving. Thank you for all you both do for the animal kingdom..your heart's have tremendous love, empathy and kindness.

You did a good thing. I'm sure the crow is grateful. They're very smart birds.
Did the crow ever come back?
Such a beautiful soul to save the crow. And I believe it thanked you too 🥰
He will never forget you. Also crows can remember individual faces so it’s very possible he will come back to visit you from time to Time.

Native Americans are spiritually closer to nature than us.
Crows can talk too. If they kept speaking to him he would eventually speak.
I thought that was a Raven?
I saw once a video about 2 crows playing tricks on a fox , one pretended to be injured. Wow, smart birds

Maple is such a beautiful crow 🥰
I hope im not being speci-ist, but they all look alike to me.
She's a contented bird who loves her adopted parents, and looking as healthy as can be. I read that crows need a certain amount of sunlight to be able to process their vitamins properly, so that outside time is a great health tonic.

That just breaks my heart, I'm so sorry about that. This just shows how disgusting humans are able to be just for convenience. Poor girl.
This comment section is beautiful!

Crows are wonderful, I'd love nothing more than to befriend one someday.
This makes me miss my Raven freind I interacted with while doing volunteer work at an aviary
Watching this is like a tranquilizer...so peaceful, so gentle and soothing...thank you for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Shhh... go to sleep now.
Beautiful crow and beautiful gentle owners.
Demon slayer fans; man I want a pet crow
This person: petting crow like it’s normal
This is actually genuinely my biggest dream
Maple is such a sweetheart!! She wanted to take a bath in her water dish. ♡♡♡ So cute!!! Love you guys!!! ♡
Thanks for sharing such a precious part of your life, it's just wonderful.
Om. Jennifer
Must be a very beautiful area where you are.
Doesn’t surprise me. Corvids are scary smart and crows/ravens are often friendly with familiar humans.
Awwww how sweet, it was a good thing that you rescued her and Pie when you did. I saw Maple's recovery when you guys rescued her.
Beautiful creature. Crows are amazing.
I love the excited wing trembles after coming up, shows how happy they are to be there.
All the dislikes are by people who don’t understand how beautiful crows are, even after seeing this girl form a beautiful bond. I hope one day they understand their beauty.
Omg what a cool dog
I wish mine could fly like yours
Oh my gosh I wish I had such beautiful crow as my pet. She is so adorable❤️
It’s been scientifically proven that the Corvus class of birds are very smart and Maple is no exception.
I had a bad day and seeing Maple made me smile and feel better. What a spoiled baby birdie...::)) So cute Thanks so much!
Respect nature and respect to those who respect nature, respect.
I'd pet her all day long, God I love all birds
Imagine being a burglar and you break in and just get a crow to the face!
Maple, "Don't stop now"!!! Such a darling bird.
This is the sweetest thing, ever!! 🖤
Watching your story with Maple makes me so happy, knowing people like you found her and treat her so well. Corvids are absolutely wonderful birds, and they deserve our respect.
