Wps goes automatically for 5ghz in the newest routers. Once installed app you can split Wi-Fi signal for 2.4 and 5ghz (while changing the name) It was very useful for my older type of Samsung smart tv to go with 2.4 while other devices in my house are 5ghz suitable. 100% improvement for yt, Netflix, Amazon or online tv streaming, almost returned it back ;) great video anyway too!

Dear Tom, Do you have any clue what to do if you changed your provider and want to re-set up again? Does it work the same way, or is there anything you should do first to close down the precious provider/decoder?
If you’ve changed your service provider you’re going to get a different modem with a different password and Wi-Fi network so you’ll have to start from the beginning again and go through all the steps. You can reset the TP link I have a video on that you can check it out.

hi - I have a Cradlepoint AER2200. My company gave it to me to use since I'm in a remote area with WIFI only and need to connect via VPN. It works wonderful compared to the many hotspots and routers I've used in past. However, it does not have a WPS button. This unit worked in the past with our old AT&T router, but maybe it won't work with the Cradlepoint. Thanks!
Bought one yesterday....paired it up fine next to my router, then i tried to move it further across the house where the wifi isnt great, but got the red wifi logo...moved it another 20 yards or so closer to the router and still got the red wifi logo. So basically it only pairs up within 20 yards or so of the router, which to me defeats the object of trying to extend the wifi further across the house....??? 🤷🏼♂️
This was the most helpful video to watch. Very simple directions an the set up was fast an easy due to his help. Thank you very much and I highly recommend anyone to watch

Hi Tom, great video, thank you. Do I need to do anything with my laptop and mobile if I want to use Wi-Fi in another room (a lot of lags, not possible to use 'normal' internett from the router)? Because you chose the extender connection on your tv, so I wonder if I need to do the same on my pc/mobile. What password am I supposed to type? Just create one for this device (it's unclear to me what password you typed in on your tv, if it was a password for tv or an application?)
I think they do have a app that you can download on your phone and I think you can add multiple ones to this to extend it further they also have a special router that you can purchase. The password is usually just your network password. Good luck thanks for watching.

How do I set it up with a ethernet port on the AC750, if I already have a network switch in the basement and want to connect the AC750 WiFi extender to the network switch? Thanks!
Thank you I appreciate it. After hours of trying to set it up I give up. My phone is too old for the App, It would not allow me to create a password on neither the Smart TV or Computer. I even tried on my Kindle without success.
I just ordered one of these. Trying to get WiFi in my detached garage that is approximately 100ft from home. My question is do I plug this in my house where my router is, or do I plug this up on the garage?
You’re going to have to experiment with some of the outlets if you get it too far from the router signal it won’t pick it up I have mine about 20 feet from the router and it works pretty good to cover the living room which is maybe 100 feet away you’ll know if it works or not because I will give you a red light on the Wi-Fi if not just try to move it a little closer to the router until you get all green signals good luck and thanks for watching
I've had this system for a few months now. It worked really well until this week. My computer is not connecting to the wifi even though it shows full bars. What do I need to do?
@@TomLeeman UPDATE: with the TP link Tether App it was pretty quick and simple. Just connect to device to an outlet, download the app, connect to the router/modem thats distributing the wifi around ur place, and ur pretty much set. But this definitely was a good reference point 👌
Thanks brother. Question: does the extender have an additional Wi-Fi name that you have to connect to? Or it’s technically the same Wi-Fi name and password from the router and extender and it just works as a booster?
This works with these DSL routers and modem gateways by AT&T with a WPS button but if you have a different system, you may have to download the app on your phone. Good luck thanks for watching.
If your router doesn’t have a WPS button, you can still set up your TP-Link Wi-Fi extender manually using the web-based interface or the Tether app. Here’s how: Option 1: Set Up via Web-Based Interface 1. Plug in the Extender: • Plug the TP-Link extender into a power outlet near your router and wait for the power LED to stabilize. 2. Connect to the Extender: • On your phone or computer, go to your Wi-Fi settings and connect to the extender’s default network (e.g., “TP-Link_Extender”). 3. Access the Configuration Page: • Open a web browser and go to tplinkrepeater.net or 192.168.0.254. • Log in using the default username and password (usually both are admin unless changed). 4. Scan for Your Router’s Network: • Follow the setup wizard to scan for available Wi-Fi networks. • Select your router’s network and enter its Wi-Fi password. 5. Apply Settings: • Save the settings and wait for the extender to reboot. The extender should now be connected to your router. 6. Reposition the Extender: • Move the extender to a location halfway between the router and the area with poor Wi-Fi coverage. Ensure the signal indicator shows a strong connection. Option 2: Set Up via the Tether App 1. Download the App: • Download the TP-Link Tether app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android). 2. Connect to the Extender: • Plug in the extender and connect to its default Wi-Fi network on your phone. 3. Open the App: • Launch the Tether app and log in with your TP-Link account (or create one). 4. Follow the Setup Steps: • The app will guide you to select your router’s Wi-Fi network and enter its password. 5. Finalize Setup: • Once configured, move the extender to an optimal location. Troubleshooting Tips: • Ensure you know your router’s Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password. • If the extender doesn’t connect, reset it by holding the reset button for 10 seconds, then try again. • Keep the extender and router firmware updated for the best performance. Let me know if you encounter any issues!
The best way to test and make sure it’s working is the look on your device you should see your network name_EXT in the Wi-Fi section and then just plug in your password. If it works on your device you’re good if you see a red light on your extender that means that you’ve got to get a little bit closer to the router. Good luck thanks for watching.

How do I set it up with a ethernet port on the AC750, if I already have a network switch in the basement and want to connect the AC750 WiFi extender to the network switch? Thanks!
U should be able to plug in at bottom
Excellent instructions; got my extender connected in no time, watching your video. Thank you!!!
Oh thank you for the kind words and thanks for watching
I have an Arris Surfboard which does not have that button. What do I do then?
You may need an app on your phone
Thank you I appreciate it. After hours of trying to set it up I give up. My phone is too old for the App, It would not allow me to create a password on neither the Smart TV or Computer. I even tried on my Kindle without success.
@@SD-no2tb Glad you got it working thanks for watching.
Can you use the tether app to with it
Not sure
Did you hook up all of your TVs to the extender or just the ones not near the WiFi device?
We have one TV hooked to it, Amazon, Alexa, and a bunch of phones and computers
You can reboot the unit on the bottom and then run through the same set up program again good luck thanks for watching
Can it be put in a dead spot with a ethernet cable?
Yes it has an ethernet port underneath good luck on your install thanks for watching
Yes i did it
Gonna set mine up tonight! I was confused by the instructions at first lol .. so we don’t need to download the app or scan the code or anything?
It’s pretty easy to set up once you know how good luck and thanks for watching
So I have a modem from Spectrum and a netgear wifi router. Only the Spectrum modem has the wps button. Is it the same process or am I out of luck?
Give it a try and see if it works good luck thanks for watching

UPDATE:
with the TP link Tether App it was pretty quick and simple. Just connect to device to an outlet, download the app, connect to the router/modem thats distributing the wifi around ur place, and ur pretty much set. But this definitely was a good reference point 👌
29 April 2024 Anyone?
anyway thank you for the Tutorial
You are welcome thanks for watching
Thanks brother.
Question: does the extender have an additional Wi-Fi name that you have to connect to? Or it’s technically the same Wi-Fi name and password from the router and extender and it just works as a booster?
It’s the same name as your net work with a _EXT
Do we always need to download the app for this or this video shows not for the app? Also what do you do if your router doesent have a wps button?
This works with these DSL routers and modem gateways by AT&T with a WPS button but if you have a different system, you may have to download the app on your phone. Good luck thanks for watching.
Hello, I don’t have that wps on my router
If your router doesn’t have a WPS button, you can still set up your TP-Link Wi-Fi extender manually using the web-based interface or the Tether app. Here’s how:
Option 1: Set Up via Web-Based Interface
1. Plug in the Extender:
• Plug the TP-Link extender into a power outlet near your router and wait for the power LED to stabilize.
2. Connect to the Extender:
• On your phone or computer, go to your Wi-Fi settings and connect to the extender’s default network (e.g., “TP-Link_Extender”).
3. Access the Configuration Page:
• Open a web browser and go to tplinkrepeater.net or 192.168.0.254.
• Log in using the default username and password (usually both are admin unless changed).
4. Scan for Your Router’s Network:
• Follow the setup wizard to scan for available Wi-Fi networks.
• Select your router’s network and enter its Wi-Fi password.
5. Apply Settings:
• Save the settings and wait for the extender to reboot. The extender should now be connected to your router.
6. Reposition the Extender:
• Move the extender to a location halfway between the router and the area with poor Wi-Fi coverage. Ensure the signal indicator shows a strong connection.
Option 2: Set Up via the Tether App
1. Download the App:
• Download the TP-Link Tether app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
2. Connect to the Extender:
• Plug in the extender and connect to its default Wi-Fi network on your phone.
3. Open the App:
• Launch the Tether app and log in with your TP-Link account (or create one).
4. Follow the Setup Steps:
• The app will guide you to select your router’s Wi-Fi network and enter its password.
5. Finalize Setup:
• Once configured, move the extender to an optimal location.
Troubleshooting Tips:
• Ensure you know your router’s Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password.
• If the extender doesn’t connect, reset it by holding the reset button for 10 seconds, then try again.
• Keep the extender and router firmware updated for the best performance.
Let me know if you encounter any issues!
@ thank you!!!
Can you use this with any router?
Almost any router
does the wps have to stay green?
The best way to test and make sure it’s working is the look on your device you should see your network name_EXT in the Wi-Fi section and then just plug in your password. If it works on your device you’re good if you see a red light on your extender that means that you’ve got to get a little bit closer to the router. Good luck thanks for watching.
This helped me in 2024! Thank you so much! 🎉
You're welcome!
