Seeing stones n maguire giving it to the Colombians will never get old . Seeing tripper score that pen and freekick will never be forgotten. Jumping around because of eric dier n jordan pickford will always be remembered. For a few weeks this summer there wasnt a better place to be than england
Never will we get a better chance of winning the world cup. such a roller coaster last summer, still can't believe it happened. but that final hurdle was what we couldn't jump, such an emotional day for england. still happy to be part of a wonderful nation
1 year on this still hurts. As a 14 year old at the time this was the best summer of my life and I'm not sure I'll ever get close to that feeling ever again, I remember the Colombia penalty shootout and in the 117th minute I was nearly in tears because I just wasn't ready for the summer to be over at that point and then Eric Dier scored and that was a beautiful feeling, can't explain it. The Sweden game, I felt incredibly nervous and the first 20 minutes of that game didn't help because the passing was sloppy. The Croatia semi final, school was closed on that day and I remember at 3pm it was boiling and walking around Walsall, there was a huge buzz around the town and the moment Trippier scored was the best moment of my life and I remember thinking to myself "life doesn't get any better than this" and we got to the 68th minute at 1-0 and I thought "the clock is broken here" it felt like an eternity and then Croatia got an equaliser, I was still positive that we would get through at that moment and then time just vanished away from us and the moment Perisic scored, I fell to the floor like someone had died and that was just horrible. It was a struggle to get to school the next day and everything looked horrible, couldn't concentrate or anything but that was the same for everyone and England just felt flat. I will never forget the summer of 2018 and as we approach 1 year on, it feels worse than ever, I still feel scarred and mentally affected in a way by that game but I'm proud to be English for the first time in my life, even though our country is a mess right now, this helps me feel proud to be English!
@@simranradia2438 absolutely on top of the world! The scenes at half time of extra time inside Wembley Stadium was absolutely brilliant, hopefully we can beat the Italians on Sunday
@@simranradia2438 yeah it was very sad. A pattern is clearly emerging though: 2018 World Cup - 4th place after losing to Belgium 2019 Nations League - 3rd place after beating Switzerland 2021 European Championship - 2nd place If the trend carries on, we will win it in Qatar. Only thing holding us back is the manager being incapable of making substitutions when the players get to the 80th minute and can't physically give anymore
1:04 always gets me. The genuine passion in Harry Kane’s celebration- no showboating, no dancing, just pure unbridled euphoria. It perfectly sums up the nation after these guys finally broke England’s penalty curse.
Just about getting around to being able to watch these; we were close, but in reality we knew we were not all that in some cases..... But nevertheless, a young side and a great, great future. WIll never be allowed (by the kids) to say "Oh not Eric Dier" for the 5th penalty, never forget Trippier banging that free kick in the Semi final.
It was a great run, but the reality was we weren't the best team of the tournament. I was happy to see England go far, but yeah, inevitabily losing in a semifinal hurts more.

Literally collapsed in the bar when Kane skied that pen.

We may never see England lift a World Cup again ☹️ This was our best chance since 1990
This is the best team we’ve had mate , we will have a few more chances

Could somebody tell me this version of the song please, who sings it?
