The rock star Pink put a metaphorical wall around him. Now those he blocked out in his life are putting him on trial for isolating..Pink is sentenced to tear down the Wall..then the Wall gets destroyed..really DEEP movie, trust me 😂
Oh trust me, my little blurb will not interfere with the attack on all your senses this movie will unleash..and you will need to watch this more than once..
This portion of The Wall is near the end of the album/movie. The main character, Pink, experiences throughout his life--the death of his father before he was born, his clinging and overprotective mother, his abusive and demeaning teacher, the music business, internal struggles within the band, etc., resulted in The Wall he built around himself. The Judge is "sentencing" him to be exposed... with all his insecurities and issues, for all the world to see.
This all happens inside Pinks head. He puts himself on Trial because somewhere inside he knows he used to care but that was a lifetime ago. Having built his Wall to keep out feelings and any pain he finds its not feeling "walled out" it's him "walled in" and when the Wall comes crashing down insanity and denial of reality is where what's left of his mind runs to. Finally Pink goes Insane. The album that started with spoken words ".... we came in" Ends with "Isn't this where"
You got it bro, it's the system breaking you down, governments family and who ever else that don't let us be free and the pressures this life in the system gives you. Any one with a spirit gets the message, niceone bro
This has been linked by some to Kafka's novel "The Trial" (1925), but also to my mind echoes some of the themes covered by Dickens in, for example "Oliver Twist", "Nicholas Nickleby" and "David Copperfield". We seem to be making some headway in the modern day though of course there are still many walls that need to come down ... 🔨
Back when acid was all over my neighborhood outside niagara falls and i was in high school and the movies cost 1.50 and you could smoke, both cigs and pot. For some reason no drinking. I think that had to do with cleanups from puking. Fun times 70s and 80s bro.

It's a long story bro, you just watched the second to final scene of "The Wall" movie. Can't imagine how you decided upon this track. It's not so much a song that was ever played on the radio, but part of the narrative of the brilliant but complex concept album and movie. You got to listen to the album from start to finish, and or watch the movie for it to even begin to make any sense. Preferably the album first as it is the original piece with the original music the way it was intended to be heard. It gets pretty dark and crazy as you can see.
The Trial was written by Waters and Bob Ezrin. All this occurs in Pink's head. Pink has put himself on trial to absolve himself of the nightmarish show where he fashioned himself as a despotic tyrant in showing his feelings of an almost human nature, i.e., a neo-nazi. (Some biting commentary from Roger Waters) The trial features the usual trial characters such as a prosecutor, and a judge along with familiar characters from earlier in the album like his school teacher, his wife and his mother. They are presented in turn as witnesses against Pink. Pink's only defense is that he is crazy (toys in the attic, truly gone fishing, losing his marbles, over the rainbow, bars in the window). Pink's self-imposed isolation has allowed him to go into very dark and terrifying places. Places that cultural and societal moderation guards against. In most people anyway.

Great reaction Brad not many react to this song from the Wall Album 👍
Brillant Roger Waters, who composed and sang it
You need to watch the movie all at once! "Toys in the attic" is a euphemism for someone with mental issues.
Also a great Aerosmith album. 😎
@@retiredfirelt586 Saw them in the mid 70's Glasgow Apollo, I was 16

Original singer Syd went crazy.
You need to hear The Wall from start to finish to get some idea of the storyline
"How can you have any pudding if you don't eat yer meat?"
Its a modern operetta 😅
Kinda a mistake to keep taking these concept albums one random song at a time. Out of context they make little sense.
