Dodge Ram 2004 Bluetooth and FM modulator into Stereo install DIY

Even when you made this vid in 2016 you could buy cassettes that were blue tooth receivers, just shove it in the slot and "play" it like a cassette. I have the exact same radio in my '03 RAM 2500. In 2019 I wanted to make a phone holder for my smart phone and went to a thrift store that had an electronics section with people who tested stuff, priced it, etc. I asked for a corded "cassette" which we found in a huge box of tangled cords. I took it and bonded a metal plate to it and attached a phone holder to the plate. Being corded the phone, which has an FM receiver in it will use the cord for an antenna and play FM radio thru the cassette but will also allow music, phone conversation, etc, to play thru the cassette player also. I keep the cord tucked under the dash mat as I rarely plug the phone up. You can still buy the bluetooth cassette receivers, but I am not sure what they do for power. My corded "cassette" does not need any external power.

with this setup, is it still possible to have the radio work?

Wow cool but you do need both them right and will work. Or is there one that does both things so I can hook up one to make it Bluetooth I was fixen to get new radio but to keep it old yes no one will want to steal. Thank you bro for this vidoe. God bless

thanks for the tip. I actually bought a new radio that had BT, actually 2, and in the end I have been unhappy with both in opart due to the loss of my steering wheel controls. I will be selling my radio to someone like the other person that commented and buying a FM modulator and BT receiver. Best part is, no one ever wants to steal some old stock radio.

I am gonna buy a stereo player with high end technology including blue, backup camera, Aux port, usb charging and any kind of crap you think . Oh by the way with mic and steering control all for 55 bucks. I wonder how could you spend 60 bucks for only two functions😬
