i don't think a speaker can suddenly stop making sounds when constantly receiving changing voltages (which is how the speaker makes noise in the first place) so i just think people are accidentally squeezing the furby's left side too hard and this breaks the unprotected diaphragm of the speaker
actually a speaker can break when making sounds that are over the speaker's power (watt) rating which causes the diaphragm to crack and no longer move when the electromagnet behind it vibrates it but since a furby never overloads its speaker the only way i believe people break their furby's speaker is by squeezing it too hard
where did you download this app? I downloaded the Furby Boom app, but when it starts there is simple-not crystal egg on the screen and Furby (Crystal Series) I've got can't be recognized by it
I have an iPad and I downloaded it from the Apple app store. It was a regular Furby Boom app and when I put the Crystal Furby near it, it became crystalised. I'm not sure why your Furby Crystal is not being recognised. You're not alone though, someone else asked me a similar question yesterday. A possible reason might be if you live in America for example, and Furby Crystal has just come out over there, the app might need to be updated. So check for an update, it might work then.

Hmm, I'm not sure why it won't scan. Is the Furby near the tablet, similar to how mine is in the video? Usually problems scanning are because the Furby isn't close enough to the app.

Yes Wifi would be a good idea because the signal is more reliable. Also do it in a quiet room so the Furby can hear the app.

Thirdly Cat Ours are working through Samsung Tablets, a Samsung Android phone, and iPod Touch. We haven't had any problems syncing with the App.

Try scanning it in a quiet room and put it close to the device you're using the app on. Also make sure you have an internet connection.
