This is honestly one of the best videos out there on this particular meta. I have these cards and can make everything except BlawkHawk right now. Galactus/Knull is very niche and works maybe 35% of the time if you can pull what you need. On the other hand Leader/Aero; RedSkull/Shuri; Destroyer; and SilverSurfer decks all have WAY better W/L ratios since there are more than 1 win condition. Galactus really needs specific win conditions for this to work and 95% of the time you're only gonna get 2 cubes since ppl know by turn 5 if they won or not. I land 8 cubes with all the other decks listed above way more than I get with Galactus decks.
Dropping America Chavez on the second lane would have resulted in a victory, and would have been the best play (unless they had a boost for the first lane)...
Pretty sure he’s referring to game 2 where he played Knull in the right location even though he had the win after playing Doc Octopus mid along with Chavez turn 6
I love that you always show how those decks actually perform. Most of the videos from other creators have those clickbate titles and make you think those decks are insane, showing you like 4 games they win when in reality their W/L ratio was like 5/10. It makes you think that having series 5 cards gonna make you unstopable when in reality you can beat literally any deck with series 3 cards. Hope you'll reach those 7k soon c:
As someone who ran Galactus without Knull to the mid 90s last season, I'm certain that having Knull would have improved my deck, but the cases where Knull would have saved me from a loss is fewer than most people would expect. I would guess Knull would have improved my win rate by just a couple of percentage points. In most cases, Knull would have just been a card that made me win more than I was already winning. Instead of Knull, I ran forge and hulk buster to buff wolverine and supplemented the deck with a zero / red skull / iron man package.
Hey guy, Just a suggestion, I think it might be better if you increased the size of the gameplay screen in comparison to everything else on the video. It's kinda small and hard to see unless I put the video to fullscreen.
In game 3 if you played out Galactus on the right you had Death in hand that would have been 3 cost. The only thing that lost you that game was opponent playing Shang Chi plus stats.
I wonder if a Heimdall / Galactus build could be possible at some point. Basically, you play in all three lanes in the beginning to keep people from figuring out what you're playing. Ramp to Heimdall, play him in left or mid, then Galactus on right. I don't think it ramp could really get it out that quickly, though, unless you play Galactus naked on that lane with only a Wolverine for backup. Might be more viable in the future with more ramp cards, though.
You can just use Cloak like other Galactus decks. Decent stats at 2/4 plus you can use him to clear out any junk that locations/opponent could toss at you.
@@icelord6668 Uh, that's why you use Cloak to empty out the other lane you are targetting. Your opponent will have a 50/50 as to which other lane you choose.
@@icelord6668 There are multiple variations of Galactus decks, if you have one that works for you then good for you. Not sure I understand what your first comment means since everyone already knows Galactus needs to be in his own lane and that can become predictable
Chris with the current meta & some of the datamined cards , which do you think is a better buy for 6k tokens, SHURI & BAST or DARKHAWK? I’m series 3 complete btw.
hard to say! I think darkhawk is one of the best cards in the game right now, but shuri's pretty awesome too. I'd recommend watching some streams with each of the cards and seeing which ones are most consistent/fun for your play style
i have galactus and knull , and in my deck i have spiderman , galactus on 4 after wave ,on 5 spiderman locks it down , 6 play what you want and win ,, its took me to level 82 at mo .
Would you get galactus from the token shop if you already have knull? I got lucky and pulled him from a cache but of course I’ve tried to make just knull work in destroy decks but just like you’re saying here there is a lot of set up that goes in to getting the perfect knull.
ooooooh. great question. MAYBE. this deck is solid if you know when to retreat, and you usually know by turn 3-4 if you need to. If nothing else, it's fun. so totally up to you!
It looks like a lot of fun and I hate having knull just sit there! I have Valkyrie pinned and enough to get her when she drops to series 4 but now I’m questioning if I should wait. Thanks for your content Chris, recently started listening to Science Fictions per your recommendation in one of your other videos and man it’s a good read but shocking!
On game 4, Just a little thing, keep the habit of always playing big cards Second, in that case It didnt change anything and surfer decks generally dont run leader but is Just something that you should be always doing (also played knull First and then death 5th game but It was a Win anyway)
I bought galactus with tokens only because I pulled knull in a collectors reserve last month. I've been using my Galactus and Knull deck to rank up this season, but you're right! This deck does lose A LOT. I reach rank 83 and I've basically bottomed out. The past week I keep going up and down between rank 80-82 and its so frustrating
You are describing the exact situation I’m in, considering getting galactus from the shop but now I’m not sure. I’d almost rather keep my Valkyrie pinned so I can go for cerebro 3.
@Greg Simpson make sure you wait until next Tuesday at least for the new patch and get her at half the tokens. I'll be getting Valkyrie and shuri next week. Keep in mind though they might not drop galactus into pool 4 anytime soon. So the only way to get him would be to buy him via tokens or hope you somehow can pull him in a collectors reserve.
Think I get Galactus for the fun of it. He will never drop so I think its still a woth while investion. Missing knull aswell but no way Im gonna spend 6k on a card that will drop^^ Thanks for your input!!!!!
It seems to me there's a bit of downplaying of series 5 cards in most of your videos; I know it supports your point that you don't need series 4 or 5 cards to win and hit infinite (and I fully agree with that), but I would expect the Galactus-Knull deck win rate is at least 45%, especially if you don't panic or retreat when you should. 45% with the surprise ability to gain cubes (if the person doesn't see it coming, which would often be a win as well) would be a decent deck.
It definitely has a greater than 45% win rate. It should be easily over 50%, like well over. My Knull-Galactus deck just got me to Infinite tonight, my first time achieving this rank since I started playing last October. Previous seasons I could reach no higher than rank 74. It's arguably my most consistent deck and the one that I know inside and out. It's a little bit different from Bootman's, though. I've played it almost exclusively for the past three weeks. Many people think that Galactus decks are hard to climb with because they are so predictable hence either opponents will disrupt or retreat. But you'd be surprised at how many people stay in for four or even eight cubes.
what other top tier series 3 decks don't have a 45%+ win rate? I literally just made a video using patriot that had like a 60% win rate and an 80% win rate when snapping...
@@bootmanmstz Maybe I'm being too literal; the comment "this loses all the time" suggests to me a lower win rate than just under half-the time. I agree most decent decks can be run successfully and you don't need any tier 4 or 5 cards to climb, but to say Galactus loses all the time I think is pushing too hard in the other direction... Galactus can be a devastating card and can win lots of games; I don't want to dilute your message (which again, I agree with) but the overemphasis on the losses without support (even during the video capture) brings the rest of the message into doubt. Kind of like when you recommend we be critical of videos with only wins; in this case, we should be critical that the video doesn't fully support the opening statement. You're asking us to "trust you" and while I do, consider this is the same thing other people say when they post a M'Baku deck that "never loses" and "takes them to infinite in 10 days" :P .
Why not spend 6000 tokens on galactus? How else would you gt him besides being insanely lucky to ooen him? He will always be 6000 tokens, no point in waiting.

Game 4 that was likely Iron Man in the middle lane. Notice how Knull went from 25 power to 30 power. 5 power was unaccounted for.
