Welcome to a new swatching session. This time, we'll be swatching water-soluble wax oil pastels by Caran d’Ache. These two sets were limited editions inspired and curated by French illustrator, Beya Rebaï. Each set includes 10 pastels in warm and cold shades. Which is your favorite?

They are so pretty 😍 but also so expensive 🙁. I really want to buy but idk if it will be worth it.
Also have you tried mungyo watercolour crayons? What are your thoughts about them?

They are beautiful indeed and very versatile. To start, I got a couple of colors to test and see if I liked them which I did :) ...I think is best to get a few colors rather than sets unless all the colors in a set are needed. As far as the Mungyo watercolor crayons, I haven't try them. I might after your recommendation ;)

​@@beliasimm I compared the prices, and the set of 36 mungyo watercolour crayons is still cheaper than the basic set of 10 of neocolor ii. It's so easy to get influenced seeing how good they are. But I just draw in my sketchbook for myself so I'm a bit hesitant to spend this much money on neocolors. I think I might be even hesitant to use them. 😅 Also I would love to see you try and compare these crayons. 💛🧡

What brand and weight of paper did you use?

@beckymadrid5894 That's a great question. For color swatches, I usually use Canson XL watercolor paper, 140lb/300g. It's cost effective and still good quality paper.
