I don't know that Ivan's vocal quality has diminished, but it did seem to me like he was struggling a bit. Maybe he was ill, like @Bostonshawn508 pointed out. I think part of it may be that he has been singing solo for so long, he may have had some difficulty adapting to quartet singing again, because it is very different singing in a group from singing solo.

Ivan voice went down hill from smoking
I don't think Ivan ever smoked. He gave it all when he sang and some blood vessels in his vocal cords have burst. I thank God that he still sings.
Ivan has a powerful voice ! I doubt that he smoked cause smoking causes your voice to break up ! Besides,he might have caught that mustache on fire !😁
