This still breaks my heart every time I re-watch. Then almost 7 yrs later, Aaron marries the love of his life at the same place where he attempted to take his own life. *cries*
Please don´t tell me that I am the only one that burst into tears... This SL is SO AMAZING! I don´t know what to praise first: All actors were phenomenal (can someone please give Danny an Oscar?!), writing is fantastic... I just wanted to jumped in my screen and hug Aaron ;(
Cheers mate! I scrolled down after this episode to read what people had written. I came across yours. I'm so glad you can respect and honour who you are. I was always a goody and never tried drugs or anything like that. I guess I coped in other ways but I did think about ending it, despite friends and family. That's what keeps me going and the fact that one day I'll meet that somone. This episode WAS too close to home.
This episode is so extensive! I really can feel the entire "burden" he is carrying around. I can feel how dark his live seems. He lost the trust in the only person he ever trusted and he is afraid of who he is. This is tragic. And its sad that there are so many people all over the world going though that because their self-awareness is low:(
1Hugi1Channel wrote: "He lost the trust in the only person he ever trusted and he is afraid of who he is. This is tragic." This is saddest bit of the episode for me, too. He had one sure and steady thing in his life (likely for the first time) and it was shattered. "You, of all people... I trusted you." What's horrible is Aaron's emotional state in the vet's surgery, talking to Paddy. He's not angry. He's not even really sad. He's just nothing.
2018 - Aarons suicide attempt in a gay panic and Jacksons death/Aarons love are two of the best storylines in British soaps for a longtime.... good job boys... need to see Marc more on tv
@@jamiepender4271 they never will, in 2020 I read the actor Marc Silcock, had left the industry and no longer is an actor. As they both played gay roles, lets remember the lads in their prime. weloveaarson.xtreemhost.com/actors.html?i=1 Marc did a few other serious roles, such a shame acting did not 'happen' for him. almost imposs. to find him online now... Hope he doing OK.
a little off subject, but if you like great acting for the 'underdog', catch '13 Reasons Why. Justins story 'ua-cam.com/video/17fjWJw2OY8/v-deo.html its not a 'gay' storyline, but HIV/Aids, sex work, homelessness, male rape...its all there, and in my humble opinion, very well done. Most of the show annoyed me, but Justins story hit home.
We're-all- Human they can still mention him, they did 3 years ago with Robert, I would be nice if he went to the grave or he emailed hazel or something
danny miller is amazing!!!!! he is such a fantastic little actor he has every emotion down 2 a T. there are guys who go through exaclty what aaron is goin through n i think is fantastic that emmerdale is doing dis storyline n doin it so well with 2 of de best actors every n danny and dominic...dey both suld win every award dat a soap actor can win especially danny!!!
Wow, I can't believe how deep the comments seem to be. My take is that Aaron treats everyone mean because it is easier to take rejection from people that already hates you. When it is someone close, it hurts a hell of a lot more. The fear in his mind has already mutliplied 100 folds now his mother knows. He has already been rejected by her in the past and now he thinks this would push that relationship beyond repair. He doesn't want to get close for fear of rejection.
I saw this week in the spoilers and I have been dying for it to all be over. Call me soppy but I just love happy stories. Happy endings are annoying because only the end is happy. I want a happy love story too :(
If he doesn't win a British Soap Award- then the system is failing this actor. Both Danny and Dominic deserve to win. When exactly are the awards. I live in the California so I have no way of knowing. Damn your guys soaps are so much better than ours. You let the story build not throw it in our faces, get us interested then pull the pulg on the storyline. Sorry complaining about One Life to Live and the KISH storyline.
Aaron's situation is clearly not as extreme as others. His fear is understandable but his lashing out is unacceptable. He needs to learn to manage himself like a person not a wild bull.
@eldadevata I get your point (I think) and I agree with you. People should not harm others just because they can't come to terms with their own personality or difficulties they have in their lives. But a lot of people didn't learn how to deal with conflicts of any kind. Many people are caught up in their own heads and have a very distorted view on how you should live your life and what you are supposed to do with it and how to treat others. I don't think they need empathy or antipathy but help.
@katieex100 I know that Aaron has problems and has feelings of abandonment, but how can his mom be so cruel to him. I'm sure she loves him in some way, but every-time I see her she's so mean to him! I mean when dealing with children like this, it best to take Paddy's approach, "Yell at me, scream, and kick, but the one thing I want you to know is I love you, and I'm here for you."
Damnit, I know he'll be alright, but it didn't stop me from freaking the fck out. This is breaking my heart. How much he's afraid, even when everyone around him (cept that bitch from the last part) want to help, how much they're ready to help. It actually breaks me to see him hate himself that much, and it's even worse because things like this go on in the world, and it just..ugh. Brilliant story this. Please please have a happy ending with Jackson. ><
@eldadevata Calling someone pathetic is a judgment. Saying someone spends their life being miserable means they suffer. It's not an expression of looking down at them, but of feeling compassion. If you really "couldn't care less," why are you watching the show? Perhaps I misunderstand you because your first language is not English, but your comments here & elsewhere, referring to Aaron as a closeted loser, etc. sound callow, judgmental & mean-spirited. (Your comments, not you personally.)
She thought Gordon could do a better job parenting Aaron than she could. Given what we later learned about Gordon, she had no way of knowing just how wrong she could possibly be.
ooh i dunno why i keep watching this...Danny did a brilliant job of this... i sorta forget that its jus a soap...can almost feel aaron's pain and his fear for the unknown...His had a totally rubbish life til he met Paddy....it breaks my heart every single time....wish he was my son coz chas tries but she's rubbish as well....
@eldadevata I'm sorry, are you calling me dyslexsic? Alright clean slate. Tell me what you're getting at. Are you sympathetic or apathetic to this type of situation whether in Emmerdale or in real life?
Is there a family relationship between Ryan and Aaron. I know he is the nephew of the owner of the garage (correct). Does Ryan just work there also, or is he a cousin???
@eldadevata some people cannot accept something that they hate. aaron doesn't like to be gay, he doesn't want to and has tried to change his sexuality by sleeping with girls and dating them but he knows its not right. he is scared of comming out and takes acknowledgement of what his family, friends and even enemies would think also his mother is a bi-polar and completly insane
@eldadevata You're really in this position yourself aren't ya? You're a self-hating homosexual, and this storyline has hit home all too strongly. I really don't get people who comment on videos just to flame either the content or the people in it!! If you don't like what you see then just jog on, use what little grey matter you may have to navigate away from the video.
O.K., this pity party for Aaron has gone on way too damn long. The writers and the show are sending the wrong message here that if you are GAY, the ONLY way out is to commit suicide? That is pure BS! I congratulate Paddy for FINALLY standing up to Aaron and telling him he is a coward. I don't know what the writers have in store for us with this attempt by Aaron to end his life, but I hate that this went this route.
This still breaks my heart every time I re-watch. Then almost 7 yrs later, Aaron marries the love of his life at the same place where he attempted to take his own life. *cries*

excellent writting again - aaron story is true to some and this is told so well.
Danny Miller does such a great job as Aaron. It's hard to believe he's only 19 irl.
BikingWithColdWater 18 when he was given this storyline.
hey, does anyone know where to find missing/blocked episodes?
