Another excellent video. A word to the wise: AutoShape won't work on a wall that's made from a plan that's extruded to 3D. It has to be grouped first (and can be ungrouped after the AutoShape item is added if necessary). Also, I would emphasize that the 3D shapes, like doors and windows, only work when the iPad is online. Yes, you said, this but slow types like me missed it the first time. Thanks for this video and all the others!
Okay you want a comment! I found that auto shapes {windows and doors} do not explode and can not be just geometry. Also id you don’t have good internet connection or it is slow, the more compound shapes don’t work very quickly. Otherwise it is a great command if you are just fiddling around with a small drawing. Thanks
So am I stuck with that one door design??... or can I change it because I rather of had it just be a plain door and knob instead of the luxury looking door it pre-sets. Thanks!
Stuck? Never! Remember, it is still SketchUp. You can use Autoshape to get some preliminary geometry, then open the component and edit it however you like! Just remember to detach the instance from the live component before you make changes!
I’m struggling to resize a sphere after I use auto shape to generate it. Ultimate I want to size it, cut it in half, and make a concave element with a specific thickness. Is starting with an auto shaped sphere the wrong approach here?
We do see most comments, but aren't as good responding to some of the older vids. If we don't respond, be sure to ask in the forums, always the best place for questions
I am working through the playlist. I really appreciate step by step. Have used SketchUp 17. Going to the iPad version after watching the playlist.

Looks like a great way to start doodling.

Superb tool on SketchUp
The icon looks like a hair follicle on display in a glass museum case. I can't unsee it.
Is there a way to change the scale on the live entity? My drawing is feet inches, but the live components are mm.
