1968 Datsun Roadster interior refresh. Redoing a dash and new carpet kit.

- Since I couldn't afford the 'just dashes' treatment (which gives a great result) for the roadster, I wanted to bring the interior back to life a little bit. A new carpet kit and some dash repairs might make this old car look a little bit better at events this summer.
It didn't all go as planned.

I love the effort of the dash and itd well worth the experience. Dont feel down, this is the process and i love this car.
Mine is rusted really bad and im hacking and replacing it all myself.
Regardless of the minor cracks, it's still vastly improved, and just nice enough to not outshine the rest of the car
Might not be too late, but having done a mk1 rabbit dash with a FlockIt kit, Id recommend it as a last resort.
The flockit kit would have been really great in this application, but finding one locally wasn't going to happen
Great job buddy! Wekfest is amazing!
Thanks! We'll see if I get to attend. Not sure how long they take to let people know
I think the dash turned out really good. I recently fixed my mr2 dash with the similar process and just sanded the sem texture paint with 400 grit lightly to smooth out the dots and the texture is spot on. Btw love your content and I recently got a 68 roadster in Washington as well
Congrats on the roadster!
I probably should have sanded it down to take the bumps off, but I can always use a dash cap later.
@@ThrottleGrotto thanks!! And yeah, it still an improvement over the previous dash
Man you're making me more and more scared to pull my dash 😂. I'll wait for some more sunny weather and just pull the windshield at the same time
If you have a new seal and a decent windshield, it's easy to cut the existing seal and extract the window. Mine wouldn't have survived that experience.
@@ThrottleGrotto mine is way too chipped to save. A local glass shop said they can get them at a decently resonable price
@@Teenys.garage I'd be interested to know price and part number on that.
@@ThrottleGrotto I'll check in with the glass shop again and find out
