I've been struggling w/ mental health issues, suicidal thoughts, etc... Dioramas and scale modeling is a new-found enjoyment. As I am still new, this helps me a-lot. Thank you very much
Cheers Tom, I had a lot of requests on how to start. It's easy to forget the basics sometimes but rather than a guide type video, u thought it would be fun to build something with it
I've been struggling to get back into my terrain building, and I want to say your message about imagination at the end really struck a cord with me. I've been watching so many tutorials trying to get my spark back, and the thing I'm currently making is basically exactly what I saw in a video, but I can't find it in me to care about it. And I think it's because it's not mine, I don't feel like I'm making something new, and ultimately that's what I actually enjoy about making terrain.
Sometimes the best way is to just throw caution to the wind and dive in. Open your heart and your mind and let whatever pour out. Sure its great to watch videos to learn some techniques and get inspiration but it is most fun when you can feel proud, even surprised by what you have created. It is a road filled with frustration and self loathing but always worth it in the end. I hope you find your spark my friend 👍👍
Cheers dude. I tried to do something simple, something that anyone can do but also show how with a little technique and care - simple can still look great. Thanks for watching
As always a great video worth waiting for. Not just technical things but philosophical things to inspire creativity. Everything here from the video to the music is perfect. Especially love the space and sci-fi theme. No one is as enjoyable to learn from as you. Eager for your next project.
Thank you sir. It gives you a little insight into the workings of my mind haha. The pleasure is mine and I already got the next couple projects done, so lots more in the pipeline
Chesley Bonestell would approve of this, no doubt about it. I owe you a great deal of thanks for such amazing inspiration your work creates. Ive become a better diorama builder thanks to you.
Indeed. Your words are too kind. I'm really glad you find them useful. I really try to cater for all levels and give as much information in a digestible way. Means a lot 👍
@@creativecuts7803 I’m just giving credit where it’s due, and you deserve a lions share of it for the quality of content you create. All the best to ya.
@Creative Cuts. Just discovered your channel mate as I'm getting back into the art after a long break from it, your channel is helping me rehone my skills after 2 decades of no scale model building
Your very welcome. I was pretty much the same. I used to be into the hobby in my younger years and then life took hold. But I rediscovered my passion for it and through doing this I am building stuff that I never would have imagined. Very much enjoying the ride. Thanks for watching
I'm just starting out on this hobby so your videos are a great help! Thanks also for not speeding them up. I can't watch fast moving things as they make me dizzy. Looking forward to watching more!
Thank you for your kind words and welcome. I try to not speed up the videos too much but sometimes it is difficult not too. Either way thanks for the feedback and lots more to come.
Yup I went and researched those sulphur pits - and you've done an amazing job of recreating that landscape. I thought, at first, the white texture paste was a bit on the heavy side but with a little yellow dry brush (i think it was?) the white became a salty crust that looked as brittle as the real thing! And the 'receeding into the depths' effect worked perfectly. The low level camera work really brought the scene to life too. Well done, but you've left me wondering the fate of those three poor scientists. . .
Thank you good sir. I was trying to play around with reflections in the pool - it kinda worked but in hindsight the reflection works better on a darker surface. Still very happy though.... and I have it on good authority that the science team made it back safely. 👍
It reminds me a lot of the pools at Yosemite national park. They recently found a shoe in one of the pools. People just don't understand how dangerous the pools are. Remains of a foot were inside. The rest of the body was dissolved I guess. It's not your backyard hot tub
How do you have such a small channel?! You have a welcoming instructional tone and demeanor and a smooth, respectful voice, such that I halfway expect you end every other sentence with, "Master Bruce." Love your channel, Alfred. I've subscribed and set up notifications!
Thank you! The channel is growing and I realise I should maybe focus on one topic or theme rather than what I want to build but here's the fun in that. I do this as a hobby so it's difficult to compete with the full timers but I'm having fun and consistently surprise myself with where my builds take me. Appreciate your kind words and welcome... Master Bruce 😉
Yeah any hobby store, most hardware stores or online. Even sometimes in the supermarket haha. I pick up materials where I can but in truth I get most of it online purely out of convenience.
Yes of course. Great idea. Only thing is will say is the colour will be desaturated due to the white plaster but you can add pretty much anything you like. Sand or small stones for a all in one solution.
They mostly get stored on my shelves or go in the loft. I am open to offers for sale and because I produce quite a lot, I will be creating a website to showcase and sell my work
The first 1,000 people to use the link or my code creativecuts will get a 1 month free trial of Skillshare: skl.sh/creativecuts04221

What a great diorama, simple in design and layout but so full of details. Outstanding job

You should make a video on how to paint miniatures, would like to see your technique and tips/Tricks. Keep up the awesome videos!
Ask and you shall receive. Great idea. Consider it on the list. Thanks for watching!
Loved the simplicity of this one, mate. Using the colours, before the resin, to give the sense of depth was a masterstroke. Good work

Your voice sounds like a young, more enthusiastic Professor Snape
Haha I'll take that as a compliment. Alan Rickman is a legend
that was very enjoyable to watch.
inspirering. :)

That looks like a perfect terrain for so many different ideas! Thank you!
Yeah man I tried to come up with something cool that could easily be adapted to many different scenarios
This is some really valuable information. Well presented and well done. Thank you for sharing your techniques.

Very well done sir! You are one of the best!
Too kind!! I have fun and that's the most important thing to me. Thank you for watching
Thanks! I’m looking to do a volcanic rock landscape, I think this method will be similar to what I’m going for
Glad this was useful for you. Good luck with your build.
👌
👍👍
Amazing job really ! Thank you from the Philippines. P.S. where are the three figures from again ?
Cool project. I really like this special topic :)
Thank you! I love space too 👽
Awesome!
Thanks!
What's the best place to get all the material like pca glue and Foam? Would a Hobby Lobby hold anything?
Yeah any hobby store, most hardware stores or online. Even sometimes in the supermarket haha. I pick up materials where I can but in truth I get most of it online purely out of convenience.
Love the effect can I ask the scale of the figures ? Regards Fred
From one Fred to another - they are 28mm minis which is approx 1/48 I think.
@@creativecuts7803 many thanks
Nice diorama! Why not add mars rover?
I figured that if humans were present the need for rovers would have ceased. But great idea either way
could you add pigments to the sculptamold ? so that if it where to chip the colour difference isn't to big from what the endresult you are going for
you can add anything that is water soluble, like Sculptamold itself.
Yes of course. Great idea. Only thing is will say is the colour will be desaturated due to the white plaster but you can add pretty much anything you like. Sand or small stones for a all in one solution.
One question, did you seal between coats from yellow then to blue, or just air dry between coats?
No need to seal. Both are acrylic miniature paints, paint on paint. I did let everything properly dry though before adding the resin
What happens to the things you make afterwards?
They mostly get stored on my shelves or go in the loft. I am open to offers for sale and because I produce quite a lot, I will be creating a website to showcase and sell my work
@@creativecuts7803 yeah you should do that ☺️
That's really cool! Check out my diorama and tell me what you think..😊
Cheers. I'm glad you liked it. Where can I see your model?
