it isn't just "luck". to get his girlfriend, he lives an upright life, going through his family problems, working hard to be a good lawyer, treat his girlfriend REALLY REALLY GOOD. that's why his girlfriend treat him just as good.
Firstly I am female, and we in an age of equality and its sad but it is easy for some men (not all) to get lost in that, do they help, do they not, can they accept a strong independant partner can they not. I have had men who open car doors and offer to help carry things for me and I let them but they are so cautious they dont offend. I figure why not, they offer why cant I accept, yet others would be so opposed, I consider myself independant, but I dont see why I should have to be that single minded to not accept any help, but that is just me. The point is, it would be easy for some men to get lost in this age. Especially if a male is struggling and it would be easier to accept a womans help, its not an easy proposition as pride and ego play a good part, the more open minded they are great, but thats not easy for everyone. It does take alot of balance to navigate in this day and age......
Usually men are not complicated they are taught like that since childhood the teachings haven't changed but the society is always in transition. Women are more fickle and many simply misuse equality as per their needs. Men have simply came to accept this and revert back to their age old teachings.
