Being a Eurovision fan for about 20 years, i never had the patience to watch all national selections 😅. Some years I watched some, other years, others. In 2011 I became absolute fan of Melodifestivalen and since then it became in my favorite National Selection followed closely by the Norsk Melodi Grand Prix and Dansk Melodi Grand Prix. Those three are the only ones I watched, until 2021 when Benidorm fest returned to the game. So, nowadays, I can say, I only watch 4 national selections every year.
For only watching 4, you picked some AWESOME ones to follow!!!! Those were some of our favorites!

I think the thing that hurt the Czech songs, was the audio quality of the show itself. I personally remember having a lot of fun with it though despite the awkward host, and audio issues because the club atmosphere was fun 😅
MYDY is probably my favourite non qualifier song this year. It lives in my head rent free. Also need to mention my guilty pleasure song Marie Reim's Naiv, all the Germans claim to hate schalger music but I love it lol Go Tobann and Melovin's Dreamer come to mind too. I had a lot of favourite songs not make it. 😅

My favourite NF song-wise was 100% Festival da Cançao, so your opinion kinda shocked me hahaha

Actually Portugal is the only country where I was sure that if any of my personal top 4 (the 4 songs I listed first) win, that they'd be in my Top 5.
I also liked the production with the Sara Tavares tribute in the semi, the medley honoring the artists that paid a bit of the way towards the Revoluçao dos Craves, the guests, etc.
The only thing that was a lil annoying was the long time that it took for the voting to end as well as the superfinal for the sixth act that prolonged each semi a lil unnecessarily.
Even though there were some small negatives, in the grand scheme of things I LOVED the Festival da Cançao.
Melodifestivalen however was just a DRAG. How many semis do you NEED? I was over it after two and a half heats. It is just way too long of a NF and most of the entries had just the same Swedish pop sound. It really wasn't my cup of tea.
Love hearing your thoughts!!! We are so happy that you loved FdC! We enjoyed it too and there were some nice songs! Iolanda was definitely the standout for us, we were hoping she would win! We also enjoyed seeing Mimicat there and loved hearing her perform :)

I only watch our own national competition. "Mello" is kind of just ingrained in my TV viewing. I am not a big fan of Eurovision, but a casual viewer of the final that sometimes end up having opinions. So. But you only watched the final of Melodifestivalen, right? Not all the 5 heats leading up to it? So there's... like... 18(?) songs you missed. *lol* Too many if you ask me!!! I mean, I rarely watch all the heats as I find it rather boring and don't see the point tbh. Mostly due to the fact that I don't share the humor they tend to go with. The scripts for the host(s) are just... painfully cringey to me. It gets better by the time the final comes around.
That interval act with the boygroup was a joke song and like a continuation of something that started way back in 2008 with Björn Gustafsson (comedian) when he first declared his love for this year's host. So the "joke" was that he gathered all the best songwriters and singers to do this song for her. I don't know if the international version of the show explained but I assume they mentioned who was in the group on stage. Well known Swedish artists and actors. The song is now very popular here on spotify but that version only have Björn singing and not the rest of them. I enjoyed it but I think it's a bit weird they never brought any other artists in as an interval act.
