Actually there is more differences between earlier M113k engines and later ones. Late 2004-Early 2005 had bigger injectors. Also if you tuned hard the 8 cylinder starts starving for fuel. You can eliminate that by installing looped fuel rail and bigger 550cc injectors.
Radoslav Stanchev I’ve read up that the looped fuel rail doesn’t really make much of a difference. It’s the injectors and pumps that make the difference. I even posted in a couple M113K groups and everyone said the same thing.

But i think the M113 5.4 is more reliable than the M113K 5.4 Because its naturally aspirated vs the Supercharged M113K
Unless u have the 5.0 variant of the M113 which only makes 300HP then u could opt to the M113K Cars with almost +200HP if u want more fun and Power
Had a C63. 2009. Sent the ECU too with dual tWeistec and it to me over100hp and just under 90 TQ. I put on new dual be dual exhaust with high. BEST DAMN car I ever had. As well.
If anyone now's of a guy in of Wayaesboro PA. Who knew Silver and grey
Good video but you forgot about the first m113 motor....the E430 in the W210. I own two of them which I use daily
Fantastic video, I love your detailed explanations, supported by pictures and construction plans. I also liked the comparison with the Viper, showing that similar power doens't has to mean similar power at the same rpm. I hope I can enjoy this car before it gets unattainable due to "environment protection". Keep the great quality content.
Sounds like you live in the wrong country. My M112K will bow to no government.
@@Matt_from_Florida I live in the country where this car comes from, which unfortunately thinks it can rescue the world climate by increasing the price for gas, petrol etc. so that people buy more electric cars and live more environmental friendly.
The M113 naturally aspirated engine is the most bullet proof of the two.
Unfortunately power and reliability have a seesaw effect.
Your videos make me want to buy a Mercedes Benz AMG
I hope you get yourself a car with this engine. You deserve it!
Amazing detail. First I've seen. Keep it up man and thank you.
w211 E55, w219 CLS55, w220 S55, C215 CL55 and R230 SL55 are beautyfull Cars. They came from the Time which the quality from the interior and other parts are better... I miss this Cars. I want buy me some in the future, at the moment i drive a c63 204 but the supercharge we german call it kompressor is a other love men :D
Oh... And greetings from Malaga, Spain! :)
Great work on this video
I wish you would convert all this great information into a chart format listing the cars, the engines and all the variations mentioned along with the years. Thanks, great video.
Yep looped fuel rails doesnt really do much.
@@alextorkelson6261 If they don't make much of a difference, why Mercedes moved to looped fuel rail with the SLR McLaren engine?
Love these car's. But I love my 6.2 in my 2014 C63. Love the sound of it. Awesome technical info in this video though. I would love to add one of these car's to my stable
excellent to watch,
thanks for taking the time to make these,
im looking for an e55 and these help
thank you
Absolutely awesome video. Thank you for making it
i love my SL55...i just replaced the supercharger bearing last week after hitting 58k!
Nice video. Definitely useful info.
I have the cls55 with renntech stage 1 tune. I’m in love with it. Never selling it.
Love this guys vids.
Dont forget about the 4.3 variant of the m113 found in older CLK, E and S class. Mine burns a little oil but still rips even past 220k miles
I fell in love with the S55amg so dammmm much that I decided to buy a 2nd one... im dead serious... one is stock, one german beast of 650 hp...
They have a 2001 s55 near me with 65,000 miles for sale. Is that a decent year to get? Seems like e55 is the most desired and is more money for some reason.
@@sob1994 2001 is a normally aspirated engine... no good... You gotta grab a 2003 and up to have the supercharged engine...
@@pascaltheodosiadis3833 Thanks, I will keep looking.I'm selling my 1998 sl500. Hopefully after it sells I'll find something.
You can up a supercharger on ur 01.
Great video, really helpful as I’m thinking of buying either a CL55 or E55.
Great video very fresh and inspiring thanks🙏🏻
I forget the point when they switched, but I believe it started in 05, the super charger provided slightly higher boost. Like barely anything. maybe up to 12psi..... If i remember correct it was the gearing of the SC that changed a wee bit... part number look up will verify this.
Ayeeee! That's Leavenworth! I was part of the 210 squad ✌
Buying one on Saturday can’t wait! Only 67k miles too.
did u buy it? if so, which car and how is it going? i might be buying a ‘05 cl55 amg soon so i want to know ur experience.
@@dezrobeats hell yeah I did. I love it too. Just all around a bad ass car. Comfortable, fast, packs all the kids and when you get a chance lock it in 2nd and slide it around like you’re in high school parking lot all over again. Brilliant machine but don’t go into it thinking it’s Honda maintenance. You must know how to turn the wrenches and get a hacked Chinese Mercedes star diagnostic to help you actuate and troubleshoot. Even my low mileage E55 needed motor mounts, intercooler pump, valve cover gaskets, spark plugs.. normal things but $$$$$$$$$$ at the dealer.
Edit- I bought a 05 E55. But the cls is basically the same car just little more stylish. I did swap a steering wheel from a cls550 amg as it’s plug in play and gives an updated look for the E.
I’m very surprised how well my m113 5.5 performs. Cls550 running the eurocharged Ecu and tcu . I wish the 550 kept the 722.6 transmission rather the 722.9 but you can’t have them all
Well done video. I enjoy watching all of your them. I still appreciate my M113K in my CLS 55. I have purchased my Bosch upgrade intercooler pump and intend to replace the original one. Also, I have upgraded my exhaust with some American Racing long tube headers with a tune. There is one car that was left out of the video. The M113K engine is also in the SLR McLaren.
And what about the 2004.-2011. G55 AMG Kompressor, with the same M113K engine?
The M155 SLR is a version of the supercharged 5.5 liters (5439 cc) M113 specifically for the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren.
I have 247,000 and still kicking strong. No problems!
I m about to buy E55 supercharger it has 160k miles with no problems do you suggest me to buy it or it doesn't deserve?!!!
Great video mate! You knowledge about m113k engine is insane
The M113evo got the same oilpan as the M113K. With the oilpump O-ring trouble. So the W209 55 Amg and the W204 55 Amg cars.
4:06 clean E55 love the wheels and the fitment👌🏼
Phenomenal video. So informative.
Love it! Great info for new owners or those interested.
Very good video. Im on the fence about buying a used E55. This is very helpful.
I love the SL55. So damn nice
im lucky to have one, u don't see this car in every corner, unique car and legendary
Thanks for sharing buddy, so much infos in 9:18 min Video. Subbed
Was looking at getting a 2005 CLK55 AMG, doing my research, so thanks for the vid lol
I definitely recommend. (But this one is NA, not the same engine though)
@@mytrashaccount3630 I thought the 05 CLK 55's have the M113 minus the compressor? Based on this video, seems rather reliable.
@@markballa2521 That's what I also understood (thanks to wikipedia) but i should not have answered, it's getting to much technical for me. I just wanted you to know that you won't regret that buy :) I don't.
Got one cls55 amg...them Germans know how to make a badass ride....
The first 2 seconds you can see the roof of the W211 is based on the hardtop from wiessman from the W208 cabriolet
you show go into detail about HWA... AMG's race division. during my 2015 AMG advanced tech training we toured the plant for a week in Affalterbach. crazy stuff going on there that most people have never heard of.
That was a beautiful F101 Voodoo. Oh yes the Merc is nice too!
Love this engine i got one SL55 is so damm nice and fast
This is a great video!! Kudos!!
Nice informative video; all the AMG engines up to date are truly amazing :))
Love it as mine is only a CL500 one day I dream of upgrading
Honestly I think the 2004-2008 E class are better looking then the 2019... I love those 08 style such badass and the curves it has God damn
Been looking for one ever since one walked away from my fbody Camaro💨💨💨
