Just doing my top end on my 17 300 and it looked very similar to that Husky for carbon build up on a JD Jet kit. I had to clean everything by hand. I used Gunk Hydro Seal 2. It did a pretty good job with about an hour of manual scrubbing. I should have watched your video instead of RMATV’s because I removed the setting bolts for the PV and now I’ll have to reset the PV with calipers
No, I didn’t go into that in this video. That is a topic all by itself in my opinion. Mainly because you can’t hurt anything no matter which gasket you use. The performance may not be as good as it could be but this video was more about just the nuts and bolts of doing it.
No. Not on a 2 stroke. Now if you don’t have a good feel for that stuff you might want to but if you’ve worked on lots of things you will be ok. The head bolt torque is about 25-30 ft lbs
Little help if you dont mind? I've got a 2018 tx 300 What is leaking out of the base gasket on the left side of the engine! Going to do a top end rebuild, piston gaskets etc! Question?how do I choose the correct piston and base gasket???
I’d get a B piston no matter what. On the base gasket I don’t spend a ton of time measuring for that. I just use one of the middle thickness ones. It may not give me the ultimate compression but i can’t tell.
@@highlandcycles I seen a bunch of videos of top end rebuilds, one guy use this tool, it is so cool and easy to instal. I like to see you to use this for next top end rebuild videos
The sincerity when you say I love 2 stokes ...you really do
Yes I do
Good job young man..
Super helpful, doing my first ktm 300 top end tomorrow am, great prep.

Solid video……. Going to have my first crack at this soon….

Hahaha. Yeah that’s a trick that mechanics use that actually have to make a living doing it.
Another great how to video, what do you use in your Ultrasonic Cleaner when you clean your Cylinder and for how long do you leave it in, Thanks
Thanks so much. I run Fabuloso in with water and 50 degrees C for 40 min
DIRT BIKES!!!!
Scott Fast YES!!!
Hey great video, just wondering what is the small hole above the exhaust port?
It is a compression release hole.
No mention of deck height or base gasket thickness?

enjoy the channel! what about squish?
I don’t worry about it. You really can’t feel the difference in running.
Hey do you need to torque the cylinder head

@@highlandcycles ok thanks alot It's on a 2016 te300 husqvarna 2 stroke does that torque setting apply to two stroke performance head

That's great
Thanks for that👍
C clip is easier to instal with driver for tire air ventil. It is like screwdriver but on end is split
Ooooh that’s a great idea

@@dragoslavpetrovic3616 definitely will. I have a ton of them.
@@highlandcycles Cool, I am waiting for your next top end. Cheers.
Just curious what about bleeding the head after coolant refill? There is a small bolt to let the air out.
How many hours were on this bike when you did this?
About 130 I think
Barbarian mechanic wouldn't let him touch mine 🤣
He knows what he is doing...
Another great how to video, better watch out you may put yourself out of business lol.
Thanks Brian. I doubt it. This just scares most people and makes them realize why it's a good idea to pay us.
