as a voice actor myself, it’s very validating to hear one of the most famous voice actors in the world completely bomb an impression. hats off to you, Mercer. A for effort.
Woo, I love that you're continuing with the More-Sided Dive gaming series! Work (and life) have destroyed my mental energy so I haven't been caught up with Critical Role proper since like episode 30-ish? But a 20-300ish minute, investment-light series of you all just having fun with various games is absolutely something I can manage! Thank you for this!
At least Matt didn't have to try doing his best impression of Maggie Wheeler or Fran Drescher for his consequences. I think Marisha would have put Matt in the doghouse and he'd be singing George Thoroughgood to Omar.🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭
I disagree personally. I'm sure she's a lovely person but it always seems like she's trying to force her way more into the content and episodes. I'm not a fan of her pick-me energy or that she's always butting in on the cast.
Dunno wtf Whesley is on about. From the beginning of this "podcast" or whatever, Dani seemed to be camera shy and not wanting to really be on at all. Her being included and more involved seems more like she's opening up and becoming more comfortable. (Also, the cast encourages her a lot so I would imagine they want her to break out of her shell). I'm actually glad she's there. She does all of the prep for this like getting questions, ensuring the comments people make are correct. She's incredibly valuable and I don't see 4 sided dive being as successful as it is without her. If anything seems like a pick-me, it's the person going out of their way to be hateful for no actual reason. It's kinda sad how bitter and jaded those types of people come off. Dani seems like a very sweet and wonderful person. To Charlies comment.. As an American, America is shit compared to what we COULD be. You're severely misinformed if you think otherwise. Her comments aren't baseless and wasn't even that bad. Like, she was mainly just roleplaying within the game, lol. If people get offended to that, they should look a little deeper at themselves 🤷🏻♀
@@alyssap57 There’s the toxic positivity and backlash at anything that’s not praise that the community is known for. I’m allowed my personal opinion. It’s not being hateful to not like someone’s behavior, it’s just a matter of personal vibes. I feel that she sometimes railroads the conversations of the cast and jumps in where she wasn’t asked or needed. On top of that, she quite often injects her personal opinions about non-CR related stuff with her comments which is unwelcome in my opinion. This clashes with CR’s stance of not being political or taking any sides and I’m honestly surprised she’s allowed to continue doing it. She wasn’t just ‘role playing at the game’ since she’s consistently made those types of remarks across multiple episodes.
@whesley1028 that's what I was trying to get at too, their platform has taken a non-political and otherwise neutral stance. Her behavior during this episode don't fit their business model.
mmm Share Matt is the best timeline.(truthfully I both don't know who share is or how to spell...his? (based on the voice matt was doing sorry)...name...)
Cher is the "goddess of pop." She's been in the spotlight since the mid-60's and is one of the world's best-selling music artists. I guarantee if you haven't heard her you've still at least heard OF her at some point in your life.
For sure. Many that are further from being corporatocracies, too (less corporate influence on the government.) The USA is the democracy that best fits the "invades for free" part of that card, though. Oh, probably you're talking about when Dani said "I'm a democracy. It's what we do", implying that all are like that. Maybe all democratic superpowers in the nuclear age? But that's a sample size of 1 for our world, so American exceptionalism etc. might have as much to do with it as how the government is chosen.
Democracy is the worst form of government, until compared to all others. If Dani was playing the game by going after the people who could nuke, getting her own resources till then, or play it for a laugh like Helldivers 2, i wouldnt be bothered as much. I know true fasist, seen dictators and the people who suffer, and know the horrors of an Oligarchy. Anarchy is all well and good until you need a bridge or a road.
@@SoyDrinker - dude, "invades for free" is on the card. That's the kind of democracy that's not great. Which real-world democracy does that make you think of the most in the nuclear era? Obviously the USA, they've invaded plenty of countries for a variety of "reasons" since WWII. And have done plenty of CIA overthrows of other governments in countries that have resources they want without putting military boots on the ground. (Usually not to directly take the resources, but to set up a regime that will let american corporations profit from it.) In game-mechanical terms taking over one superpower's puppet regime or client state to make it your own is basically equivalent to an invasion of that state to take their resources, even if actually done by supporting a coup instead. Historically the UK has been a democracy for a long time, too, and has plenty of colonial history, and IIRC other colonial powers like France and the Dutch were also democracies while they did much of their colonial invading and war-fighting. But post WWII when the game is set (nukes are a thing), the obvious real-world reference is the USA. But I didn't love it that Dani said "I'm a democracy. It's what we do", implying that all are like that. Maybe all democratic superpowers in the nuclear age? But that's a sample size of 1 for our world, so American exceptionalism etc. might have more to do with it than how the government is chosen. I'm sure she didn't think too much about whether that caricature of superpower applied to democracies in general. Although to be fair, other powerful democracies like the UK in the colonial era did plenty of invading of territory that already had people living there. And plenty of wars against other similarly advanced nations.
Yes. I haven't commented before because I don't want to just spread negativity but she really does grate on me. I feel as though she adds almost nothing to these sessions but constantly inserts herself and her unwanted opinions into the show and the cast just goes along with it.
Everyone's annoying at one point or another. While I personally don't agree with most if not all of Dani's personal life choices and/or Cultural stances, I do appreciate her as the Lore-Keeper and her genuine enthusiasm for whatever she chooses to get involved in. Politics is not what Critical Role is about, so when Dani brings politics up, I feel that's the awkwardness that comes up as the others (whether they agree or not) don't continue or acknowledge it, even in jest. Mercer? But Matt wasn't in this video... there's only Marisha, Laura, Robbie, Dani, and Cher.

the end: iam gonna nuke myself!
Omar thinking his mom has a snack for him at 3:14 is adorable.
“I want to play again and make us be better” was exactly what my second round of playing this game was trying to achieve
The Omar photobomb at 10:15 is precious.
I don't know why everyone was giving Matt such a hard time, that Jerry Seinfeld impression wasn't all that bad...
"You can't read it! It's got an objective." Robbie Daymond 🤣
"I can't contribute because democracy took all my stuff" feels too real 😂
Took me like 15 minutes to realise Matt’s impression was his tower consequence and not a rule of the game that he was the only one sticking to
I can't believe Matt FCG'd himself
too soon
🥲
Great episode and I want to salute anybody who contributed in the theme song for 4-sided Dive. I love it.
Laura's palpable concern over the dwindling time for the game and how slow everybody else was being... I felt it also. Lol.
Matt's giving Trixie Mattel doing Cher for real
Accurate AF.👌🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

At first I thought Matt was doing an impression of a different Cher I had never heard of 😂
I have the feeling that now Matt will deep dive into perfecting a Cher impression just to prove he can.
The outro song still goes hard🎉

Matts Cher impression was better than I could do, but it did sound like if fred durst were in south park
Robbie Damond for permanent host. God damn he killed it. Great job.
Matt's Cher impression was hard to Believe.

Somehow, Matt keeps getting smaller. 😂
Im amazed how good of a host Robbie is.
Why does Mercer's Cher sound like Jimmy Stewart?
Matt taking himself out is such a mood
The thing that made this video great was Matt’s strife. 😂
What was matts punishment? Having to do impressions?
Cant wait for the debut of an NPC that sounds exactly like Cher
If only MATT COULD TURN BACK TIME!
Kinda wish they played another round of this lol.
ok but a church of Cher sounds incredible
Now we know the one voice Matt can't do.

Hope to not be out of line, but i just wanna say that both Marisha and Laura are aging like fine wine, what a wonderful women
I've never missed Sam and FCG until the outro since this more sided dive
