as someone who primarily uses the earrings on main as glam i'm really, really excited about the re-release of Menphina. I don't have any prior to Endwalker's pre-order window so I'm hopeful that I'll be able to get my hands on the rest eventually, and some nice bonuses for my alts. exclusivity sucks anyway when it comes to glamour items and we're never getting Feast rewards back, we might not ever get prior series rewards back, so fuck yeah for /something/ being accessible to new players that they'd missed out on!! And with the mogmail, my fc uses it quite often to send random bits and bobs to each other. A couple months ago i sent stacks of bees to everybody, or we send glamour items + prisms to the newbies, trading between alts using a friend as a proxy even when they're offline, etc. so we definitely do our part keeping those moogles busy!
Something that took me literally years before I found out, but you CAN use some consumables on other players. You have to target them. Probably not the stat buff medicine, but I've cured Silence on a healer in World of Darkness when people ignored the slime puddle and adds before.
I found out about it on my early days when you get PHOENIX DOWN from somewhere as a item and i used it to revive a dead sprout that died in a FATE battle, but still to this day i have no idea where i got the PHOENIX DOWN item
i find it odd that people are so much more caught up on gulool ja’s mom when zoraal ja’s mom is also a mystery, and it was lampshaded at the very start (his birth was considered a miracle too). since sphene was on the other side of the golden gate granting wishes, maybe gulool ja ja went there one day to get a baby boy from fiverr, and sphene decided to fulfill it with science to get a foot in the door to the source and its many souls, maybe gulool ja is a leftover zoraal ja clone embryo
I think Gulool Ja is a clone and that will likely be addressed sooner rather than later in the patch cycle. Probably some leftover scrap from some quest for perfection. I don't see a "mother" at all. Particularly since not even the locals that got trapped in the dome remembered a single female mamool ja. The kid didn't even get a name until the resistance people named him Gulool Ja. It wouldn't be a son, he probably escaped from a cloning facility like weapon X.
my money's on clone, regulators won't work against old age and he seemed like he really wanted to be the one leading the charge, so i have to assume slotting your soul + memories into a younger body is a plausible loophole. it would even be a fun call-back to the Allagan clones not having souls or wills of their own but Gulool Ja is clearly his own person, which probably would've made any body-hopping impossible. so there might've been a "mother" figure who gave a clone body those things and tried to escape, and in that case it'd make more sense for the very reserved and shy Gulool Ja to be tight lipped about that person and for Zoraal Ja to not even really consider them since by that point he'd figured out how to escape the dome and could just go off to war anyway.
What I honestly think about the Zoraal ja and Gulool ja situation is that he's not "really" the father in the sense that he had a relationship that generated him, but that he's something like a dynamis projection from him, it's a part of him that has his love, consideration of others, and things that he generally considered to make him weak, so he cast them aside (fisically) and they became the "son" through dynamis thingy majingy, or maybe hes something similar to an eternal in the sense that Zoraal ja removed traits from his soul that became Gulool ja
I hope this giveaway is just a precursor to like a SE social experiment. 2000 winners, 1999 of them are great rewards, but 1 person wins getting punched in the throat.
umm, about fray..... using a tool, he dos have skin tone you cannot use, so he is just a midlander wearing level 60 fending gear with his skin color matching it. it is also the case with alot of npcs that have non player assets, its just one of.... 300-400 or more faces faces the player do not have access to, like how gaius face is not selectable when you make an elezen.
I once tried to use a gold needle on someone in Labyrinth OTA (the Ahriman mobs cast petrify), didn't work... I was disappointed 😀I suspect it only works on Esunable petrify.

Weird head canon theory. I think baby Gulool Jah was a clone meant to house the elders body later, or empower his current one somehow.
