  • The purpose of this video is to introduce you to the product I offer, what it looks like and what to do with it after receiving it in the mail. I offer two different products. Both come with cycled medium, in the box shown in the video, but one has a dozen or two worms, and the other having around one-hundred worms. Also, both will come with an unknown number of eggs.
Cycled medium is important as it takes time for it to be seasoned to the worms liking. Depending on the medium, this process can take several months. Most aquarists don't care to wait that long, so I complete this step for you. This arrives as a freshly cycled culture.
Simply place into a container where the medium will be a couple inches deep. In the video I am starting something larger, but your container should be something like a sandwich container, but with higher sides. Poke several holes in the lid.
Once in their container, add a cup or two of water. These worms are near semi-aquatic so don't be afraid you may be harming them. In fact, a white worm will survive for weeks when submerged.
Add a piece of bread. They appreciate their food wet.
This is a 'room' temperature strain. Place it someplace that remains at a comfortable temperature. I added a thermometer afterwards, and the high culture temperature was 75 degrees that day.
More videos will follow where I explain everything in detail. Let's follow this one for the next few months.
