Sorry I don't respond as much these days - short on time. Most things you have to teach yourself. The internet and UA-cam have been my real teachers in life. I believe in "freely you receive - freely give" so if you can't pay it back pay it forward. Like you I obtained a degree but found that school didn't do much for me. The diploma helps on a resume but I found that if I'm going to really learn anything useful I have to teach myself and I can never stop learning - it's always changing.
I had the same thought, I suspected it was so the DHCP service can talk to the DNS service and alter it. This doesn't seem like it makes sense as it all runs on this machine, but that seems to be how it works. I guess it is built this way because there can be multiple servers involved. 2020 and still relevant. Thanks!

A late response here but glad it was helpful. There's a lot to learn and many folks on the internet and UA-cam have helped me along the way.
Still relevant. Thank you for taking the time to make this.
Good explanation , Thanks :)
Awesome, thanks.

But how does DHCP know which zone needs to be updated, there can be multiple zones?
