Good fun, I love fresh fish, everyone that catches GT seem to release them here in Australia as if they are endangered or something, there is thousands of them I don't know why more people don't eat them
I want to go to australia and do some plugging over there! I lost a few this last trip to Hawaii biggest was pushing 25-30kg. But thats the game you win some and lose some.
We release them because uluas have the highest amount of ciguatera out of all the reef fish I believe. Look up ciguatera it’s a super messed up type of food poisoning that can sometimes cause you to get sick every time you eat fish
@milkmandan77 you can keep papio's! Its dependant on the areas of the island you on. I have never had Cig, I ate uluas from a 98.2# all the way down to 40s and some nice papio's. I say, throw back small papio's. But if you get one thats like 5#, sash em!
Howz it, sorry it took me months for reply! But I never got cig from any of the uluas i ate. I heard guys getting cig from Wahanui, roi's all kine. I think it comes dow to the side of the island you catch em. But if you catch ulua's, just gotta know that i taking a risk. But won't stop me from eating one. I got to the one that won the 2018 Tokunaga tournament, 98.2# and i never got cig.
Yea i live in Texas because of school. So i'll try to make more fishing videos. But share the video to your friends and let me know what you want to see "tackle" wise. Mahalo for the support

Nice day of killing Ulua! It's also nice to let some of the big ones go too. They don't even taste good...
I would rather take 1 big ulua than a bunch of rats. And honestly they taste just fine in my opinion. But this was a span of 1 month.
I just remember when you could hook up on the big island every morning on a big Ulua. Times have changed people need to eat I suppose.
They fucken taste ono

Its a huge investment, but that $4 windscreen will pay for itself in keeping viewers who are put off by listening to static.
