- Van Zyl’s Pass in Namibia! A mistake here has major consequences.
It’s time to descend. This is the team's most remote, off-road 4x4 route of the trip, located in the vast, untouched wilderness of Namibia.
Dr. Jon is unexpectedly called for a medical issue, and the roads of Namibia strike again.

A true highlight of my Overlanding career! Such a wonderful to be a part of!
Awesome to see how much you are enjoying the adventure and how much you add to the team!
Hey Adrian when I saw you joining the team, I blushed like a kid.
Thank you for joining us for episode 6! Following Van Zyl’s path in Namibia was an amazing journey.
Thank you for making all of these videos!
👌helping that little Girl with the broken .EPIC
Pretty amazing to be able to video call a doctor from such a remote location. Starlink is a lifesaver.
It was certainly not what I expecting at 3 AM when my phone rang.
I'm South African and I haven't been to the Van Zyl summit yet, I've heard about it, I want to go now. The pictures probably don't do justice compared to seeing it with your own eyes. The beauty of God's creation, I love it!
great job guys helping the young girl, this is humanity at its best. much love
May God bless you for helping that little Girl.
❤
Adrian is a class act.
RoamOverlanding ... Whoot whoot
This episode was a pinnacle of editing and writing for me, and a masterclass for the masterless. Great job! I thoroughly enjoyed it, as I do all your productions.
After watching XOverland for a few years it’s always amazing what you can learn. I was amazed, in the last two episodes, to learn that one of my distant relatives was an explorer in southern Africa. We didn’t know that until last Sunday and when I sent the kids a screen shot of the summit of Van Zyls pass they were thrilled. Thanks for sharing your experiences. Oh, and thank you for pronouncing our name correctly.
Of all the overland videos out there, yours is by far the best, most epic, and entertaining. Thanks for sharing your adventures!
Thank you! It’s a huge team effort.
Probably one of the best terrain in the world to overland
Agreed!
You guys have done a really great job with this series. Congratulations on an epic run!
Glad to see you checking out this content Andrew! I learned a lot from your adventures!
Another amazing episode! It so wonderful that you could help that little girl with her arm. I hope it heals well! The statues along the way are interesting! Would be so cool to learn their real meanings.
Just as amazed watching a kid riding a donky in the middle of the desert as he must be waving back at those vehicles. Magic
that kid is actually living in the "expedition"...
What Epic timing, Braai almost done and I will be chilling at watching you guys and Girls Enjoying Africa .( Lekker Braai ) Justin Stark
That's my Sunday evening sorted 😊
A part of Namibia i have not been to, on my list. Awesome episode.
Every episode. Dankie Thank you Siyabonga for helping that girl
I've been watching your videos for several years now and I'm a huge fan. I've already been overlanding in Africa many times. I love the African style of overlanding and I'm also a huge fan of the US overlanding scene. You're such a very likeable team and it's so much fun to watch this series. Seeing how you deal with problems and seeing how the American overlanding style combines with the South African style. Traveling and overlanding is one of the best ways for people to understand each other. What you've done here and how you do it cannot be valued highly enough in these difficult times. It's great that you have some of the best South African overlanders by your side. If I ever ship my Jeep from Bavaria to the USA (the plan is still there!) then I'll visit you in Montana. Best wishes from south Munich, Bavaria, Germany🍺
I'm enjoying this series so much and wishing to be there right now❤ love this series
Wow! Great episode... and thanks for helping the little girl. Field medicine.
Now I see where the thumbnail was taken from so beautiful ❤
The one thing I'm envious of is the lack of light pollution. I can only imagine a good telescope out there on a clear night.
Many things (crawling, desert, helping people,...) in just one episode...jaw drooping!
Another Great episode. thanks so much for all the hard work you guys put into making these videos. Cheers !
I’m enjoying these so much. Special thanks to Peter for telling his audience about this. Looking forward to the next video.
Giving Healthcare to the little girl is amazing. What luck for her to run into you guys ❤️

At every point in your overland trekking journey, TIA will have the same as well as a different meaning. Be mindful, thankful and overpowered by the aura of timelessness, for This is Africa. Envelope yourself in its majesty. Blessings from all that was born onto this land.

The rock crawling and then into the sand. So sweet, would love to be there with my family in our tacoma and enjoying it with you all. Meeting more people, offering help and the rock men love it. Best thing about it, all new experiences and memories.
The footages in the desert at the end of the video are so beautiful and to be honest I had some tears , because that remind me the Journey I made through the Libyen desert in 2009 . Thank You so much .❤
Thanks for great show. Nice balance of real vs cinematic. Better / different than Nordic series. Maybe that was intended or because I’m watching on my phone 😉. Looking forward to Africa part duex and visiting here in Kenya.

Hope you are coming to see Table Mountain. Keep on xploring! Wish you all of the best on your adventure. Stay safe, Joseph (Cape Town, South Africa).
I need tissues now...what an amazing gesture, providing medical assistance to fellow human beings....you did great
Loving this series
That is one awesome show you guys!
I stumbled by accident across it.
I was searching for videos about South Africa. And I also do some off roading in Alberta.
That why it instantly grabbed me, when I saw it.
Last summer, I had the unbelievable opportunity to spend 3 wonderful weeks in South Africa.
I think every day about it.
I came across that poem, and I believe almost everyone that has been to Africa, can agree with me, that’s what I feel when I think about Africa.
AFRICA SMILED
written by Bridget Dore in 1995 (dedicated to Nelson Mandela)
Africa smiled a little
When you left.
"We know you," Africa said,
"We have seen and watched you,
We can learn to live without you,
But we know we needn't yet."
And Africa smiled a little
When you left
"You cannot leave Africa," Africa said.
"It is always with you,
There inside your head."
And Africa smiled a little.
"Our rivers run in currents
In the swirl of your thumbprints;
Our drumbeats
Counting out your pulse,
Our coastline,
The silhouette of your soul."
So Africa smiled a little
When you left
"We are in you,"Africa said.
"You have not left us, yet."
A lovely poem! Thank you for sharing! We're so glad you found our video!
Just returned from a Kaokoland trip. watching and enyouing your experiences bring back good memories. What an awesome place to visit!

U guys will always be amazing!
Great episode cant wait for the next one.
Hi, Van Zyl's pass was built by Ben van Zyl in 1960 and opened in 1965. He was appointed Commissioner of Bantu Affairs in the Koakoveld in 1947 and built the pass to enable him to visit the area under his control a little bit easier.
This whole Seties is a Master Piece❤❤❤
Smashed another one out the park. Beautiful
Epic ❤❤❤
Busy watching all the episodes, and just amazing to see the American vehicles driving in Botswana/Namibia. In this video @ 13:17 min, you mention a shot up Land Cruiser. That vehicle is actually a 1980 Isuzu KB. You also mentioned the 300 series Land Cruisers you wish you had in North America, well same goes for us in South Africa that we wish we got your big Toyota trucks. Great footage to watch !! Enjoy South Africa.
Just love watching you guys. Its 10 at night and have to watch this episode before going to bed
Well done, awesome trip and area , was there in 2012 . Enjoy!
Yall make the The best overlanding videos! Bar none!!
Thank you for the kind words!
"he's been turning his car off every time we stopped" So that means you didn't turn your cars off when you stopped?!! OMG :)))
Wow!❤
Awesome series for ExpeditionAfrica
Enjoy your trip! Good narrative as well. Nearest hospital however was at Opuwa, one days drive away.
Another African Ripper.......
Thanks for the share 😎🤙
TOP!!👌👋
i was about to go the bathroom before watching this..... now im constipated
Love these! Man what a show! I am curious too on how the Sequoia’s weird cargo compartment faired as the pack mule.
Great footage guys, being a namibian born its always special to see. When you go back, you can leave the secoia for me thanks.😂
I hope you get to see the albino giraffe that lives in that Des
Oooh
As an outside observer and being and having traveled traveled Southern Africa your biggest challenge is a too tight schedule. Africa is NOT like the rest of the world, time is an extremely relative construct here.
Should you ever return take it slower and explore more, you've driven past some of the greatest jewels of Southern Africa.
Great video none the less.
Just found out about the channel this morning and I'm loving the series
Welcome!
@@Clay_Croft thanks! It's a very beautiful morning in Northern Africa so good morning!😊
coming for the brandy 😄
such a beautiful teem and i rally like you help that girl
Another great video, I wish you guys would share more of the costs when your getting fuel or groceries or at the end of a series so we have an idea how expensive it was to travel !
I've been watching your expeditions for months and was very excited to see that you guys are going to visit my country Namibia. Can we have your honest thoughts on Namibia. Did you have any issues with people, our banking system was it easy to withdraw money? where do you think we must improve; will you come back or will encourage others to also explore Namibia.
The big water tanks supplies you may come across in the area where also built by the military
Please let us know before the episode ends that its ending , I was so focused on the trip then it ended 😀without warning 😀.loved it thank you . Now I wait 😀Justin Stark Cape Town.
It would be epic if Ashley said hello to this comment. I'm her biggest fan!!!!
A ratchet strap connected to that armor and then to the towing points of the frame could pull it, all while staying clear of the end flying off lol
Man, good thing you recovered quickly for your tire sponsor😂😂😂 Should have been running Falcon Wildpeak AT3W, Always next time.
I wonder how many families are currently discussing if they could do this type of trip with their kids. Let’s gather here 👏🏾😁
Yip Africa is a tough continent .....
