This does not surprise me. Firstly thanks to this man for showing us a simple graphic presentation of the situation.
It's all about mentality. If you don't maintain systems and infrastructure you can't expect it not to have a nervous breakdown. The ANC government have for 28 years not maintained law and order, infrastructure, absolutely nothing. The cities are run down and garbage lies everywhere. This is typical black mentality. Look at the townships. They believe in quantity over quality. All ministers should go on diets and get into the gym. They cannot even walk because they're all obese. How disgusting. Any Minister over 50 needs to retire. We need young educated people from every race group leading a completely new system. They've made South Africa ungovernable

    • @Snazzydoll440
      @Snazzydoll440 Рік тому +1

With this type of mentality/thinking SA in is trouble.
If you not happy, you’re more welcome to leave SA (just a suggestion). The other folks are in majority make with that.
Point fingers is not going to solve problems in SA. If you think you can do a better job, run for office in 2024. Cyril Ramaphosa signed Electoral Amendment Bill that allows independent candidates to run for national/provincial elections. I suggest you nominate suitable young men/women who will bring the change you seek in SA.
Being keyboard warrior in the UA-cam comments won’t solve the problems in SA. Be proactive instead of reactive.

Let's forget about the harmful effects of coal..
for a moment. I tired of being in the dark for 12 hrs a day. If coal doesn't off us, surely falling into a pothole in your area will.
Suggestion, we have 30 ministers and 15 coal fired power stations.
If we allocate 2 ministers to each Power station (to focus all their attention on getting them fully operational, (we could see an end to loadshedding much sooner than expected.
There is a risk of this being effed up, but we won't know until we try.
The DGs could keep the home fires burning (so to speak) in the respect government depts. They do anyway.
The minister of Electricity to oversee this entire project.

I have a lot of respect for Clyde and his background. However, his recommendation to add Solar, Wind and Battery is nothing other than lobbying for green unreliable power. The global installed battery storage can only store 11 min of power. By 2030, this number is predicted to reach 30 min. To think wind is the solution when Western & Eastern Cape provinces is running out of grid capacity is misguided. To think Solar is the solution when Northern Cape has run out of grid capacity is even worrying. Solar and Wind are not reliable and cannot be dispatched on demand. We missed huge opportunity of 9.6GW nuclear plan which was viable and affordable. Today, they are selling us Just Transition Plan which cost R1.6 Trillion, more expensive than nuclear. Time to accept that this country has collapsed due to politicians giving decision making position to their friends in politics. Energy Efficiency is the only solution that requires no money, but serious discipline.

Hey this is finally explained so I can understand it. If we close all the mines and smelting plants the homes will get all the power we need. This may sound sarcastic but mark my words, the mines need to stop completely. South Africa does not need mining as the current government has proven it doesn't care about businesses and infrastructure. We are all so talking about Eskom power production and we ignore the 4 mafias running the show. Until we approach the mafia and ask them for more power we will not get it.

This guy is clearly pushing the renewable agenda. You cannot base your base load on renewables like solar and wind, no country does. Solar and wind are very unpredictable hence why he is showing the average. Base load is coal, nuclear and gas (it is like that the whole world - Germany, USA, China etc). The country must fix the base load first then add renewables as support power. A solar farm gives 10MW to 100MW depending on the size and quantity of the panels. The biggest solar farm in SA is Jasper at 96MW. We will have build a lot of farms to reach 6000MW, which is not practical in the short term (2 to 5 years). The solar power comes in at 08:30 to 17:30 which is off peak. SA peak usage is 05:30 to 07:30 and 18:30 to 20:30. Solar without energy storage does not help when energy is most need (we will still load shed despite having sufficient power via solar). Solution is to fix coal fleet. Eskom has 44000MW but only manages to give 19000MW. Country demand is around 26000MW. Fix the coal plant, it is doable. Due to Russian energy not being available to Europe owning to the war, Germany commissioned two of their old coal power plants to reach base load. We have an excess of coal in SA, put a budget aside and fix Eskom coal Power plants.

The problem here is that the SABC prefers to paint the picture on the state of ESKOM with fat crayons, so that the conversation either dulls the intellect or you are overcome with anxiety that this is regarded as excellence in analysis. They have access to professors who teach Electrical Engineering, but they choose hobbyists who make it up as they go along.
For example, the cholesterol he's referring to is called priming and is caused by hard water or untreated water - believe you me, there are alarms that continuously monitor the quality of water to the boiler. If you were employed post '94 in a senior role at ESKOM you either had an NQF 7 or 8 qualification or you were considered a candidate for a pre '94 agenda, so they are educated & trained - which should be suspicious if you aren't already overcome with prejudice. What could be handicapping professionals from rising to the task?
As for me - this thing is being sabotaged not from the inside, but from those who want to make a run on it; and their tool is a decoy/failed alternative - green energy. I blame the professionals at ESKOM too, but not for incompetence...

@@anthonsaays6714 Eskom no longer knows how to keep dissolved solids out of their boiler feed water? Are we talking about dissolved mineral salts or silicates? Is this a problem in the subcritical units or the supercritical units? Have Tutuka's operators completely bypassed the water softening equipment and they're injecting raw well water into boilers like it's 1865? Extensive concretions in boiler tubes also causes local overheating and rupture in the evaporation zones of the water walls. If it's bad enough, you can get solid carryover and damage the turbine nozzles and blades.

ANC will never be removed from power until inequality is dealt with completely. Until then we will never be affected by the same thing. When Whyt people are saying loadshedding we are saying let the economy collapse! It's not ours we will start again ✊🏿🇿🇦

Then why not votela EFF do deal with inequality? Because the ANC has failed. Black people are still staying in bantustans. Compare where they stay to where whites stay. I agree fully that whites most of them need a reality check. When a person is unemployed he/she will not worry about a business that has to close for a few hours due to loadshedding. I dont understand why black people are not more angry.

The total collapse means starting from Zero. It is a dilemma, you kill it you kill us all and if we leave it nothing much changes. But a total reset would be a disaster.
