So sad. When I was a kid, this was THE BEST place to go. It was open to the public, and I had 6 birthday parties there in a row growing up. It had a pool, 2 hot tubs, a sauna, pool table, pinball, arcade games, burger joint, and a great bar. Now it has "room for an executive security tower. Oh, progress. Sometimes I loathe thee.
Very nice video and a lot of amenities. I, too, remember it as a child and going there almost every weekend. Sure wish that it WAS free still. At least the hot springs themselves. Many a bad back and aching muscles could profit from it.
Great use of Geothermal heating. How do they cool the house in the summer? That's gotta be a hot house with 130 degree water coursing through the floors.
Sleeping Child Hot Springs Home Sweet Home♪♫ Fond memories of youth, sweet 16 birthday parties, all night soaks, JK ♪♫❣Who's the rockstar that bought it? Always wondered♪♫❣ Had to run off to find other hot springs, thought of offering up myself as servant to go home to my pool. @@danyellerobinson5940 I would agree. Human usable hot springs are so rare, unique and valuable that they need to be publicly available for all generations to come.
@@ntjson ... The sacred site is the place of origin for many area tribes (akin to the Christain Garden of Eden). Historically it is where tribes gathered for peaceful negotiations. Homesteaders turned it into a playground, blasted the sacred rock, and built a monument to the monsters of lore. Perhaps, someday, locals will understand the value in honoring and respecting this sacred space.

I went hot tubbing with John Denver in 1985 at sleeping child.
It used to be a public space.

Executive retreat? Are you kidding! It should be open to the public like it was for hundreds of years.
Area tribes occupied the area since time immemorial. It is sacred land.
