My father-in-law was in the Can. Airborne and was dropped off course behind enemy lines. He was wounded and taken prisoner on June 6, 1949. Reported as KIA. He was very proud of being in the Airborne unit. He escaped with 3 other paratroopers at the end of the war, as they were about to be executed under the Kommando Order.🇨🇦
I was not a paratrooper. But the best NCO I ever had in the PPCLI was Eric Miles: a paratrooper. He was respected by all, even by his seniors. I used to love giving him cigarettes. He deserved every one.
