Frank, I love your vids! I would love to know a little about your back ground. Just to understand how in the world you know all of this stuff!! I am very much looking forward to this vid series!!!!
I had one of my customers who bought a 1600 Cub Cadet, and wanted to turn it into a pulling tractor. Every time he started it, it would destroy the driveshaft. He finally brought it in for repairs. He had removed the original driveshaft and replaced it with a one inch shaft, with both ends reduced in size to the original size. He also removed the fabric drive couplers from the driveshaft, causing it to bind up. I put all original parts back in the tractor, and no more issues. Don’t try to fix what isn’t broken.
Been looking at other channels builds for awhile now. Lots of different ways to solve some interesting problems. Should be a good build. Thx for the content
Got to love those old motors fires up even on the coldest days may not stay running but they'll start wow that one covered in dirt saw a hard life sheesh
@woodandmetalshoptime8048 yeah but it's good to see 50 year old or older just fire right up when after 2 years on these new motors you're either replacing the engine or buying new piece of equipment
Looking forward to seeing what you come up with! I know you know what you’re doing but I follow a couple other UA-camrs that have built something similar. Ideas are always informative. Mike festeva and Donn DIY. THANKS Frank for taking us all along on the journey!
I watched Mike Festiva's project several years ago. He's the reason I have a CNC plasma table now. DonnDYI is building one now--a 6x6 forwarder. Both built their own frames but you'll see our articulation methods will be very similar. I mean, there's only so many ways to do it properly...I plan to follow some of Mike's ideas pretty closely, but, again, his is not unique either.
The spring on the trunion plate looks remarkably like the brand new teasing spring that I managed to lose when replacing the drive shaft on my 108. I mean it just vanished. That was over two years ago. I still look out for it to this day!
Hi Frank, can you explain how you are going to synchronize the 2 drives for your back and forth motion, can't wait to see come together. Well I should have known, I jumped the gun on my question and you answered it at the end of the video. I now comments are always welcomed none the less. 👍👍✌️🇺🇲✌️
Love the Cub builds, but I'd bet this would be a lot easier with a HyDrive Case; you'd just have to run a set of hydraulic lines to the rear drive unit!
Happy to see you are into another build. I have been watching you since you started your UA-cam channel and I am enjoyed all the bills you’ve done. Looks like another exciting one here well, we’ll be watching when the next one gets released will be along there with you along the way.😊
The Guy's got all thier barks out
Thank you I'll be waiting 😊

I'm a retired nuclear engineer. (really). In my spare time, I'm working the kinks out of a flux capacitor powered unit for a future build. LOL.

I'm always excited to see your next cub cadet build. I'm sure this next one will be epic.
I will be glued to the channel every Thursday night.

I so happy you're doing this build 😊

In some respects it is actually in better shape than the 149. I think it spent more time garaged maybe?

Can't wait for more!!!

@ It’s always a pleasure to see you bring your creations to life Frank! Let the build begin!😁
Nice Frank, this is going to be a good one, like all of them.

They springs are similar but the teaser spring is larger diameter and shorter. I just repaired both trunnions today and replaced the springs.
Nice! I was wondering if you did another build what it would be. Looking forward to every episode to see how it progresses! Thanks Frank!

Fantastic
love your videos Frank
I was hoping for a double engined scraper!!
Thanks Frank!
A good way to do that articulated joint is to use a Dana 44/dana 60steering knuckle and inner c
beautiful machinery your building!!

That’s probably blasphemy to this guy! Lol

Thank you for sticking around!
Love all of your videos
It’s neat that first tractor has a cigarette lighter on it, my cub 104 has one but it doesn’t work , if you ever want to part with yours let me know!
And we’re off! Gonna enjoy another build. Thanks for sharing.
I dont watch all but i lke the machine builds
I think that this just might be your best build yet, Frank! BTW, love Brutus and Butchie!
Alright Frank
The truck hub is for what they call oscillation in case you care
Is that the proper term? I think in terms of aircraft or spacecraft motions where it's "roll" but I like oscillation, too. It's descriptive.
Love it
6 wheel drive articulated dump truck?
4 wheel drive. Need to keep it compact to for my property which has lots of fencing and gates to get through.
Hi Frank, have you ever seen James Johnson's you tube? He has made one like what you are about to do. It might help give you some ideas.
I tried watching but got motion sick from the camera movement. Are all the episodes the same?
Do you have a steering wheel for and other parts up to sale
No, sorry. Not at this point.
@5:53
That wasn’t an accidental button push. The AI knew you were ready to throw that ice and snow outside.
The takeover has begun. 😂🤣
LOL. You're probably right.
You could of had this 129 I have for a parts tractor if I had of known you wanted it.
Everyone asked for a Cub Cadet powered riding quad-copter...
How did you confuse that with a dump truck ??? lol
Oh crap! Now I've got to start all over again! And I just disassembled both transaxles today to flip the ring gears...
