Go to amazon and look for an iliving exhaust fan. Spelled with an i at the beginning. I recommend getting the controller that amazon will probably suggest made by the same company. The fan and controller are made to vent hot air from an attic, greenhouse, factory and so on. They are designed with high heat and moisture in mind which is why I put them in my kiln. I got the suggestion from a viewer of one of my first kiln building videos and it has worked out so far. I hope that helps. Good luck with your kiln if that’s what you are building.
As soon as I put wood in it the clouds rolled in and have not gone away yet. It is full of soft maple and ash. I will have another video out in a few days. Hopefully we will get a little sunshine soon.

I have had this setup for a couple years now and they still work like a champ. The kiln is 8x12
What temperature do you set your thermostat? Can you elaborate on your thinking as well, why only run when it's warm? Thanks
Chuck, can you point me in the right direction for purchasing fans for my kiln? Thank you.
Dave Simmons Check the comments right above you. I tried to reply to your question but it ended up there instead

I guess that is close enough to 24" for direct burial cable.
