    For the bedrooms, bathrooms, laundry and any other small rooms, I used an 8" dual voice (both left and right to same speaker, but not mono). This saved money and the aggravation of lining up 2 speakers. Not to mention only cutting one hole.
    Result - They sound great! I would highly recommend to future installers.

      Three years later and do you still like your dual voice speakers? I'm considering doing them in my whole home as it seems almost silly to wire every room for stereo just for background music. Want to make sure it's the right decision because there's no going back!!

      @@we6871 They've been great. No regrets. Perfect for background music. Obviously not for 7.1 theater surround, but that's not the application.

      what about in large rooms? I as advised that even a single dual coil speaker in a rather large room would not give you the sound dispersion needed to sound good. All sound coming from one single pint in a large room (bigger than average bedroom)@@sagetx

      @@we6871 My two largest rooms (living room and theater) had 4 pre installed speakers for surround sound by the builder. I hooked them up L&R but not F&B for surround through the WHA amp. Mostly because I didn't want to figure out another amplifier and signal routing. Works fine for us.
      I wouldn't use the dual voice speaker in any room large enough for 2 speakers. My 2 bedrooms that have a single DV speaker are approx 12` x 12`. They are placed center front of the room. Works fine as whole home background music. They have no direct connection to the TV that is in their respective room (only the living room TV through a source for example keeping up with the game on in the living room).
      Other rooms with single DVC speakers include kitchen, dining, laundry, master bath and office/lounge.
      Master bedroom is 16x16 and I put 2 better speakers in there for stereo and better quality sound. Mounted L and R of the bed. Never used them for TV stereo, but there is definitely a better experience grooving to music in there.
      Garage has 2 outdoor speakers the same as he used in the video for his back porch.
      HTH.

      Yes, I've been planning in my head for many months, constantly thinking! I need to buy cable and speakers soon...as in this week. I am thinking i am going back with the Dayton Audio line. I just can't see how you can beat their level of engineering, and their cost point. They truly have engineered great speakers, and you don't have to pay premium for a "name". IE bose, polk, etc.

    Thanks for these videos. I just took advantage of the black Friday special at Soundavo. I bought the WS66i whole house kit and the price was $1,299.99. So another $50 less than using the TKMZ code! I also purchased the Monoprice 6 Zone Home Audio Multizone Controller and Amplifier Kit to use as a Slave to the nicer WS66i Soundavo. This kit was only $629.99 so nearly half the cost of the upgraded Soundavo. Not a bad deal for 12 zones. Thanks for your help KMZ1!

    Thanks for the videos, very helpful. I'm in the planning stages and starting to think of home audio, all pretty new to me.
    I like the idea of smart speaker integration and came across the HTD DMA-1240ADS. I love the way each zone combines a smart speaker for voice integration.

    I want to do this to my house. Excuse my ignorance, but if you wanted to stream from an online source, the amp doesn't have that capability correct? Would you have to do it from a smart phone? Also, if its a 3 story house, is it wise put the amp in the basement on a network rack or middle floor?

    • @TheKMZ1
      @TheKMZ1  4 роки тому +1

      This amplifier, the soundavo ws66i, has 2 wireless streamers built in. So you can stream directly to it without buying any additional stuff. Check out my last video on my channel where I talk about this amp. Regarding your other question, it's hard to answer that without inspecting how you would run the wire. For example, in my house if I had a direct easy run from the basement straight to the attic, then I would have put the amp in my basement.

      @@rvernet2016 The size of speaker is somewhat just a preference for how you want it to look. 8 inch speakers have much larger appearance in the ceiling.
