He is so weirdly honest... there are very few people whom you can trust by just looking at.. not calm and yet so calm.. and of course with a child like smile
Let’s not trust anyone till that extend 😂 good thing is I think he won’t say that.,
That’s so true !
Always thought the same .
I love this guy .. child like , genuine
So true.. He just is so honest and that makes him beautiful!
OMG! Yes! There is original director 's cut of Bombay Velvet! I would definitely watch that. I am one of those people who actually liked Bombay Velvet, especially for acting. There should be petition for this cut. Please someone make this happen.
same, finding this kinda comment
Yeah would love to see him make BV the way he wanted to. Must be fun.
Bro I'm all in for that.
Hit me up if you are doing anything
Bro even I liked Bombay velvet
I LOVED that movie. I rated Pure 7/10 in imdb
Imagine bahubali directed by Anurag kashyap
Mahendra: baap Ka dadika sabka badla lega reh tera bahu
It will be Mahendra as Amarendra died.

The ‘content’ based cinema that we see these days....well, this guy got that revolution, pretty much single handedly. More power to you. Nice segment FC.👍🏻👍🏻
Not single handedly though. Ramu brought the change we see today here, even anurag himself credits ramu as the one who 'disrupted' the system. Then there were prakash jha and vishal bharadwaj but after their era it's pretty much Anurag and vikramaditya alone who are keeping things afloat.
@@gouthambhat1622 Agreed!! May be I shouldn't sat single-handedly, but the amount of resistance this guy has put up with, I don't think anyone else has. I mean symbolism of 'No Smoking' is still ahead of its time, even in 2019. Then 'Black Friday', 'Dev D' etc. all were disruptive cinema. Having said that, there are indeed other brilliant story tellers as well, like Vishal Bharadwaj, Motwane (Lootera, still my favorite) and number of them.
not single handedly previously there was RGV, shyam benegal
Anurag should make Mahabharat, in GOT kind of style. Mahabharat's story is not anything less than RR Martins GOT books.
GOT is shit compared to mahabharatha
@Route 1 no bro. Mahabharatha has more characters, layers, twista, wars, women, love than any possible series
@Route 1 dude I'm an Atheist. I m not saying this in religious perspective. You probably haven't read Mahabharat. Least you could do is just Google largest Epic in the world.
@Route 1 I think he wanted to say there is a lot of potential to make a great show with this old epic. every character in this epic had their biases and faults.
The only problem is that unlike a fictional tale like GOT, making a realistic story of mahabharat by calling out the faults of respected characters (for eg-Drona, arjun) is *IMPOSSIBLE* cuz people see it as a part of their religion rather than a story about people who have their faults and would only lead to needless controversy.
Log Release hi nahi hone denge bhai.
Please bring Anurag Kashyap more often.
After I saw Anurag kashyap, I bumped into directly:)
The best thing to happen in Bollywood. At least for me.

Never expected Kalki's Question😄😄 and the way he answered!! That's how a relationship should be.
You might want to watch the following video that has Kalki and Anurag together. It's pretty awesome! ua-cam.com/video/12hMTCdfLvg/v-deo.html
Mam, have a interview with Mr.Kashyap about writing & creative perspective...plz
Thank God he said that about Gangs of Wasseypur climax !!
I had very strong opinion about the blood not looking real but never said it anyone because my clique and I are hardcore GOWP fans.

Forget Snyder cut, we want Anurag's cut of Bombay Velvet.
bc kya bakwas sawal hai 'Artists' ke.
Could have asked about his opinion on GOT, on other directors, Tarentino, Nolan, Wes Anderson, Coen Brothers.
But naah, they will ask about his shoes, such an artistic question.
The questions are more about the personal experiences and nuances about Anurag, as an artist himself. Sometimes, it's good to see the artist separate from his/her art, to reveal to us the intricacies and the idiosyncratic notions of the artist's mind.
Also, we get it...you are really cool and know the names of a few mainstream Hollywood filmmakers. Congratulations.
@@akashsrivastava2796 what you are saying is true, I agree taht the guy was a bit mean about it .
But, I hardly see any podcast/interview about him explaining his *art*. It is always about how the industry works and the problems indie people faces while selling their product, it is never about editing, cinematography or dialogue writing(something which he does really well)
I want him to tell how he got influenced by other directors and make his own thing.
Like, making such a cool version of the rural areas in gangs of wasseypur by using indian pop culture references.
How he explores the negativity of an Indian man in his films. I want to hear how he makes his characters and make them look organic. You getting what I mean?
@@manoramarout7000 actually, you can find him talking about all these points in his interview in an episode of "The Creative Indians", it's a show available to stream on Netflix.
@@akashsrivastava2796 Netflix. Hmm. thanks for this recommendation, man.😊👍

WKW is one of his greatest inspirations
@@akashsrivastava2796 WKW is my favorite filmmaker . In which articel did kashyap regarded him as his inspiration ?
@@naumancsd0983 In a Deccan Herald article, titled "Anurag Kashyap in De Sica country" published way back in 2009, it has been mentioned that Kashyap is inspired by many films and filmmakers, including Wong Kar Wai

‘Satyamev Jayate’ had uncomfortable violence. Which happens to be unsuitable for children.
That’s why it was rated A.

I have always had great admiration for Kashyap. Ever since Mukkabaaz I have RESPECT for him. Thank you for being on the side of the underdog. My best wishes to you..
i am a simple person, i see anurag, i hit like button
so there is a different cut of Bombay Velvet.
Is he really serious about Allwyn Kalicharan and casting his favourite star, which is supposed to be Srk. Would be superb if this two collaborate😃
seems like the case, also it makes sense that he wants to rewrite the script which sounds like had a neo(n) noir aesthetic. after what Dennis and Deakins have beautifully done with the Blade Runner sequel, it makes sense to not continue with that feel, as if they just picked up the thing and copied. They will have to now deviate harder now.
That picture in the frame is getting so less attention. Wong Kar-Wai's "In the mood for love" is one of the best films ever. I bet great directors of today have been influenced by his cinema and the movie itself.
This would be the first and last episode in this series I guess like rest of the FC segments
Anurag Kashyap is not only one of the greatest LIVING directors, he is one of the greatest directors to ever live. If you have not seen his masterpieces Gangs of Wasseypur, Ugly, Mukkabaaz, Dev D., and Black Friday, make sure to do so.
Something so sexy about him! I wish he makes more and more films, breaks rules, create soul-stirring music, bring more newcomers, writers and just continue making cinema.
Great going FC... A proud subscriber!! 🙏👏

great segment started by Film Companion.
Who all noticed "In the mood for love".
Anurag takes Ram gopal varmas name in each and every interview/ ted talks... such is the impact!!
Its sad how RGV vanished into oblivion after directing such bad movies in the recent past
@music gives life hope They fought and were not on talking terms for years, but made up around the release of Raman Raghav 2.0.
@@kaustavchatterjee4158 He hasnt vanished into oblivion. He is making movies in telugu. Please stop thinking Bollywood is the center of the movie universe.

Anurag + Srk is my dream
Bombay velvet is still an albatross hanging on Anurag's neck.
He says he has issues with authority, I wonder what kind of school kid he was! 😄
Finally heard Rajeev Ravi’s name from Anurag’s mouth in his interview!!😄
legend!!
Love the way he smiles when Manoj bajpai's name came
He is talking abt SRK, when he said "our favorite actor"
REALLY??!!
Ya, right. He was to make Allwyn Kalicharan with Anil Kapoor who backed out at the last minute even after posters being out. It's since been hovering around Kashyap & SRK, and hopefully will get made some day.
8:51 to 8:55 I legit burst out laughing. Gosh, it's ridiculous how an actor as seasoned and skilled as Nawazudddin Sidiqqui is always confined by the general public within the bounds of silly shit like skin complexion.
Aamis - 22nd Nov..Anurag Kashyap presents...Assamese Movie ! ❤️
if i would ask a question to anurag sir then i will ask does he want to do like a movie like christopher nolan ?or i would love to see him collabrated with him one day hope my wish got fullfill some day.
Don't you think so... They are kinda polar opposite.
Kashyap like quentin or scorsese who care more about the conflicts faced by the characters and how they deal with it and the dialogues and what kind of place they are in (denoted by the pop culture of taht area)
Nolan is more into plot rather than characters. Characters are just like chess pieces with less personality cuz the plot is the major piece and how the characters deal with the situation(like, inception) .
But, it would be interesting to see polar opposite people to work together.
He already made a movie called *No Smoking*. Unfortunately it was a disaster so I don't think he's gonna make another movie like No Smoking for our so called bollywood audience because he knows they can't digest it.
Stupid questions to ask from a film genius :)
Just fantastic....that's the reason why we love to listen him...and he doesn't do often...do one after saand ki aankh.. #filmcompanion #anupamachopra
"In the mood for Love" poster in the background, its one of my favourite films ❤️❤️

Not only Director anurag also very good actor...
That Ramadhir Singh dyeing scene was still very authentic, so don't worry about it sir!
He is a rich director making poor budget movies। 200 plus shoes।donate it cashup(kashyap)

I wanna see Anurag directing soty 3 and karan johar gow 3😁😁
Live long... God bless you... ur fan👍💯
I mean this guy should have been at the top by now but that Bombay Valvet debacle pushed this guy 10 years back otherwise directors half of his talent are making way bigger films than him. Also his last good movie was GOW...all other after that are either bad or average.
Omgggggg!!!! Behind him is the poster of 'in the mood for love' directed by the legendary WANG KAR-WAI . BRB I AM CRYING 😭❤️
Me tooo ! Wong Kar wai is my favorite filmmaker of all time . Chungking Express , In the mood for Love , Fallen Angels , Happy Together , Days of Being Wild ahhhh too many classics ❤
In the mood for love on of the greatest movie of all time in background ❤❤
In the mood for love behind. It's fav movie for me too
what's the 1st sentence he says in reply to kalki's question?
Anurag kashyap should have his own show. He sounds like someone who's had a very eventful life and will never run out of tales to tell. Also he has come a long way from an emotional, jittery fellow to a calm and wise gentleman.
Well.. A lot happened to him when he was a kid. Abuse, bullying, dealing with toxic masculinity and anger issues.

The director the world will always remember, always always be remembered as somebody who got the balls to challenge the authority at every level.
Anurag Sir is a believer in Chaos Theory.
Rangan, Grover and sobhita gave a batter insights into this man's work and mind

Kashyap was a founder out-of-Mumbai stories. Claps and Applause for Kashyap
I don't understand why the film Bombay Velvet is put down so much because I really enjoyed the story and the era it was set in. One of the slow songs and Ranbir's entrance into the club and his subtle mannerisms and expressions made me watch it again and again. How I wish I could be around his passion and be even a small part of it. Just sending feelers out to the universe
Wanna see Doga movie when will I see it?
But the very sequence of ramadeers deaths .and that visual effect that u mention itself was like .. wow ..though technically it is wrong as per you ..but that melds into the fabric of your style ....i personally thought how could he think of such a thing ..that was funny that was justified from stortellers pov .and was ticking many boxes .. And we enjoyed it ..
Ask anybody about it .. its also the most watched scene .. and see the reaction videos of that scene .
Waseypur is perfect 10 on 10 anuraag .. cinema cant get better than that . .plz continue making cinema from your heart . We love your films .. except bombay velvet and no smoking . Heheheh .
