    You’re the first person to explain that a 1/4 inch ‘stereo’ (TRS) jack can be balanced mono...great, thanks! I was wondering how some DACs have L &R balanced jacks rather than XLR...

    Okay....so new to all of this. Im a HAM radio operator and am looking to pull the output from the HF Radio, which I would believe to be mono 3.5 (1/8”), and I am trying to connect to a standard theater center channel speaker. The reasoning is that we need to hear the Voice itself being transmitted and not the other highs and lowes that may be interference. So can I do this? Will I need a separate amplifier of some sort to power the center channel speaker? Just to clarify, the HF Radio can and does provide feed to other HAM radio speakers, but they suck in sound.
    I really want to try a center channel to hear low weak signal transmission

  • @szeredaiakos
    @szeredaiakos 2 роки тому +1

    Technically you can have balanced or stereo signal through a TS, and .. its quite good if the TS cable is 2 cables not a coax.
    Pulse density modulation or with an offset against the ground.

    • @Utaku_da_gamer437
      @Utaku_da_gamer437 Рік тому

      Is there a specific connector for this?

    • @szeredaiakos
      @szeredaiakos Рік тому

      @@Utaku_da_gamer437 No, there is not. While the ground can be used as a large parasitic capacitance object acting as a return, you are still using wires as an antenna. The basic setup would require a much more elaborate and powerful balancing circuit and clean-ish ground. You could use a Goubau line or e-line but you will still end up in a much more expensive situation.
      That's the point, technically it is possible, but for short distances, single line transmission, is way more expensive than a normal set of cables.
