    On that diesel heater, if your running a long 3” hose and get a E-05 code (overheat code) think about switching that to a 4” hose.

    I was always told to carry 20 liters for every 50 miles / 80 km after filling up. Especially in my 5.4 f150. So I normally carry 80 extra liters of fuel. Which is good for 350 to 390 kms in case I gotta turn around. First-time viewer, definitely will sub. I'm just getting ready to build up my f150

    This kind of overlanding might become more relevant as we move forward. As we grapple with more and more forest fires during the summer months it might be more satisfying to camp during the off season where there are no bugs and less wildfire smoke. Your Toyota is quite the rig. I like it.

      Interesting theory for sure. We’ve found the shoulder seasons of spring and fall to be the best camping times. Summer can get too hot and winter obviously too cold

    • @Beardinc
      @Beardinc 10 місяців тому

      @@allterraintrailsdefinitely agree. Shoulder season is the best.

    I have camped in a tent at -32 a couple of times. The first time it had snowed over night. The snow was so deep we had to dig our way out of the tent. I could stand up in the middle of the tent. When we got dug out and looked back at the tent there was only a foot of the centre pull that could be seen of the tent..

    • @allterraintrails
      @allterraintrails  10 місяців тому

      Was this in Canada? That’s a lot of snow! We’ve never had to dig our way out thankfully!

      Yes It was a few years ago. In the mountains of southern Alberta. We were on our winter course for the military. It was a five man teepee type tent.

    I wonder if you can get a larger fuel tank for your heater. Another 1/2 on top of what you have would be great.

    New sub. Great video. How are you powering your diesel heater? Off the main batteries of the vehicle? I have a diesel heater set up in my bus but power it from a separate battery bank charged by my alternator and solar. I now have a jeep and want to set up a diesel heater for my jeep. I just don’t have as much space as I do in the bus and therefore my power source will need to be smaller. I’d be interested in seeing how you power your heater for this rig. Thanks so much. 🤙

      @allterraintrails  9 місяців тому

      Hi! We’re using a dual battery system to power the heater 👍🏼 here’s a link to the video about the system

      @@allterraintrails The electromagmetic Toyota factory ones, they do work fine.😁 I would change them maybe if they should fail, but until now they do a good job.
      I just reinstalled the original Aisin-Toyota winch (Industrial grade), not fast but good pulling power👍🏼
