What's your favorite style of minesweeper puzzle? Think I like the octagons and squares the most, but the hexagonal ones are the easiest for me to solve.
Yo tyler, love the vids, keep it u
I like the classic minesweeper with just squares and flags
i cant wait for that card game to release
I feel the same as you. There’s a _really_ interesting octagon & square puzzle in the bonus section that had logic slingshotting across the entire puzzle.
Demoncrawl. pls more content on it
as someone who sometimes needs to screenshot hexcells to throw it into paint and draw on it to keep track of my ideas, this game's pencil and eraser function is a dream come true
Though whenever a puzzle game does include a note feature you should get quite suspicious. This game is ridiculous even with notes
Oh, it's inside the game? Amazing
Yeah it's really cool but also pretty intimidating
@@smolGecko what do you mean ridiculous or suspicious? It's a well-designed game. Just because something is a sufficiently challenging puzzle to require effort outside of your head doesn't mean it's not worthwhile or fun or sensible, does it?
@@anon6975 they were more or less complementing the game...
I've been playing this - 40, to me, was the first real genuine "this is so hard I'm going to leave it and come back later, again and again, for days" puzzle. It gets SO tough later, all the ones I have left I've been coming back to for days, chipping away a couple of blocks here and there. Love this game :D
That sort of note-taking is know as bifurcation in Sodoku, which basically means narrow down to two choices on something then guess one and work it until it breaks
Love this series!
Oh hey tip for you, Tyler: If you hold down shift, you can see your drawings and then let go to return to minesweeping mode quickly!
Just so you dont have to go to the corner and click the button to see your drawings!
Always a great feeling to hear someone appreciating a well-designed puzzle
As I was playing this myself i accidentally figured out that if you hold ctrl, you can see adjacencies.
Here's another one for you - If you draw something in Drawing mode, you can hold Shift to overlay it when in Standard mode.
Also, personal taste, but life became a lot easier for me when I turned on the "Count Down" option in the launcher. Made it much easier to see when a tile was clear.
no one could complain about you using 'pen and eraser' when you used it properly on an unfamiliar layout, nor did you abuse it to make it easy. that level was super cool too 🔯
tyler is the best teacher for me,not only he taught me how to play minesweeper but how easy and fun it actually is as well as a lot of tricks
It was rare when aliensrock just miscalculated
I know nothing about minesweeper and have never played it before. This video has actually interested me in minesweeper. Subbed :)
When the game says that guessing is not required, I'm assuming they also consider bifurcation a viable logic technique? If some of them are only solvable by brute forcing that would be lame
So far, I don't think any of them have need bifurcation. He has used it, but it wasn't necessary to do so. I'm fairly sure he could have finished all of these levels without it, but I don't have the game so I can't say anything about the game as a whole, only about the parts that I have seen so far.
this is something I'm curious about too
Anyone has more info on that? :)
Welcome to cracking the cryptic
These puzzles are pog
Always glad to watch some 10x smarter then me
My own approach is to reset whenever I hit a mine. It's annoying, yes, but it's incentive to not hit any mines the first time around, and whenever I get to where I messed up, it allows me to look for the ACTUAL logic that I missed.
And also completing the level without hitting a mine during the level will make the level number blue, if you hit a mine and undo and then finish the level the number is white.
You can see that 2 of his levels are white, those are the ones he made a mistake on.
@@hallojasper4297 I didn't know that, I suppose because I was never in a position to know. All my level numbers have been blue from the start, since I always reset after hitting a mine.
You can make nonograms with this game's mechanics.
16:07 Get ready for a lot of this later :)
i wanna see lunar styles!!
I hate the pencil method because it's basically just trial-and-error, which doesn't seem very strategic to me.
tametSEE ya nest time
There are a few I have yet to solve due to their difficulty, but this sure ain’t even close to one of them, lol
Please play the room in vr on the oculus quest 2

Ignore me, I made a comment that I don't think was valid.
Lots of bifurcating, i see

No. No I dont think I will
Fine 🥺
Not until I finish this video!
Brute forcing sucks. However...
I've found that if I end up brute forcing a Tametsi level, there's always a better, non brute force way to beat the level that I missed. By the time I reached the lategame I had come up with a system of notation that made it easier to see those paths, and helped me enjoy the game much, much more.
Ahats brute forcing
What was the notation system you ended up using?
@@peantud12 brute forcing is like when there’s a 3 digit combination lock in an escape room or something and instead of looking for the answer, you just try all 1000 combinations. Essentially, you skip the actual logic and just guess/click on tiles uncaring if they’re a mine or not
Only Tyler can make "EXTREME Note Taking" sound exciting
Tyler’s mind is so massive that my brain started hurting after the first level
Never ceases to amaze me how talented he is at puzzles
"I'm excited to see what the late 30s and early 40s have to hold"
The Second Word War, probably.
Sure felt like it
Me: *Going to school in 20 minutes*
Tyler: *Uploads a 25 minute video*
Me: Yeah, I got time.
Relatable
It is so cool seeing the way Tyler thinks through these puzzles so we can understand
The note-taking you do is how I usually do sudoku - the “put in every possible number and whittle down options” method isn’t very fun in my eyes.
Some of the logic for these puzzles I’ve seen in sudoku puzzles. Tyler can definitely apply them to sudoku and solve puzzles
I love how verbal you are with puzzle games like this. It's really easy to get lost, especially if it's easy to go fast, so I really appreciate the "walk-through" approach. You have a lot of character in your voice and with your quips! Very enjoyable stuff you're doing great!
It's interesting watching this and hugely appreciated. I've never given minesweeper a fair shake but interestingly I've always very much enjoyed sudoku which after watching this video actually has a lot of the same force rules. I gotta take another look at minesweeper now!
is it my colourblindness, or were the bottom 3 colours in the hexagonal puzzle very similar?
(I'm assuming you mean 40: Sunset) The color scheme is meant to mimic a sunset, so from top to bottom it's orange, pink, purple, dark blue, with the red sun in the middle. The bottom two colors are indeed pretty similar even to my eyes, but still easily distinguishable.
water minesweeper? sounds intresting
Day 365 of telling Tyler that he never finished his minecraft series and that he should finish it.
BTW press read more for a speech and a surprise!
I can’t believe that it’s been an entire year of this. It feels like just yesterday I was on day like 50. This has really been an experience for all of us. We’ve seen people come and go with their own comment on here, and many of them forget about it or give up. Most people doing these give up quickly, but not me. I would like to thank NS777 for being here the longest, and persevering through it all with me. They’ve been here basically from the beginning and has stuck through all the problems with me. When I got grounded, or was sick, and the time or two that I decided to take a break. They are the one that have been through fire and hell with me. But what i’m just trying to say is, thank you to all of you that have been here at any point and have said anything nice, or tried to join it, or just even liked the comments.
TL:DR, Thank you, all of you, for being here. Also, Q&A in the replies cause I feel like yall know nothing about me.
what is your next day goal
Ok but I dont understand why
Day 44
Happy anniversary
Uhhh what is your favorite school subject
Are you gonna finally stop now
@@nicolasalexander7357 highly doubt
After watching so much hexagon minesweeper, regular square levels look so ugly 😂
What a great day to be FIRST

Keep em coming!!! Love the daily uploads. I stay up late every night just to watch em!

Aliensrock : Let's just pretend we don't know what this is
Me : Literally staring at those double 4
Honestly didn't know how to play mine sweeper for the first 15 years of my life and just clicked randomly.

“I can’t count past six”
The funniest thing in this video is the word "Nevermine"
I love all of the fast logic of what's a mine and what's not and then I hear "one plus two is three" which is about the only thing I could have figured out in that puzzle.
There's a setting in the launcher of this game that makes it so that grey cells are treated the same as colored cells, giving them a single-color count and making highlighted grey cells have a grey border like how colored cells have colored borders. IMO that makes this game much more visually clear.
Yeah, I had to use those options when I played through myself. The default look for grey mines is super confusing.
Just for the record, at 8:15 there was more information available, looking at the 2 hexagon to the upper left of the red, and how it interacts with the 4 below and the 3 above. No need for bifurcation. But I don’t blame you, mistakes happen, you’re not a computer.
Congrats on 450k!

i can only complete a eazy square minesweeper imagine THIS MONSTROCITY
7:11 - How did you not notice the 3 was completed?!
Hey Tyler i Like your Vids
I Hope there is a different way to solve the Puzzle without First guessing a Mine
A Sudoku channel called cracking the cryptic taught me too avoid this method to enjoy more of the logic
Developers said all puzzles have no guessing way. Tried. True. 3xcellent
Brute forcing isn’t really necessary for these puzzles. You can come up with your own systems of notation for marking to make systems like that seem obvious without needing to explicitly guess if one tile is on/off
Arctic Monkeys used to play this game too. Actually they wrote a song about it.
have you played The Pedestrian because if not then I think it is something you would like to play
The one thing that consistently annoys me in this video is that you repeatedly say “both of these cannot” to mean that at least one isn’t, instead of “these cannot both”. “Both cannot” implies that neither can.
I wonder if theres a minesweeper game where you have to use the fact that the puzzle is solvable in order to solve it. I feel a lot of such vibes in tametsi but so far i havent needed to use it

Tyler stressed about counting to two
omg the minesweeper is tetris
You can push button "control" to see all adjacencies
I have no idea what is happening or how to play but good video
what about number 22? why is it not blue?
my dog gave birth in the middle of this vid
why are you such a sigma male
40 was quite a simple one
Take notes while I take tokes
I love these videos so much
They are not mine!

i found this video so late, so you’ll probably never see this comment, but i’m so so happy to see more tametsi content on youtube! i played this game last spring and perfect cleared every level after about 200 hours-not great, but i was so happy to finally beat it. what a fantastic game and i’m so glad you’re giving it more exposure! the tametsi community always deserves more growth and your puzzle-solving is so awesome to watch
i have to say i used to suck at minesweeper but for some reason i still got demoncrawl because of you, but after watching your videos and returning to demoncrawl i have become so much better at minesweeper games so, thank you. :)

If you're ever struggling with surrounding tiles, you can always, hover over the tile and hold Ctrl
If Tyler ever changes his curtain my world will crumble.
Is there a vod for tametsi?
I really want to wacth every stage in tametsi
Day 3 of watching Tyler. Can't wait for inscription to come out!
Middle click is an eraser, so you can use two colors with left and right click.
asteroids minesweeper. 3D minesweeper
Fyi roll was updated
Becase of the logic
I’m some early!!!
Yay、is back!
Does this game have a colorblind mode?
I think it does but i'm not sure i'm remembering correctly
I just checked, it has a mode that changes colors for letters of the alphabet
@@coffeedude Thank you.
You didn't _have_ to use a pen on the first one (the three times you used it could have been done by noting that the 4 next to the red hexagon and the 3 directly above it force the mines in the 2 adjacent to both of them), but... eh, whatever. It's always worth seeing the alternative methods.
Did you know that if you hold control down you can see every neighboring cells
sometimes its physically painfull to watch your videos because you may be doing some crazy things counting 20 mines with everything. while you have completed mines that help you alot and that a pain on another lvl. but anyway you just good with all those games.
